摘要： A method and apparatus for enhanced browsing. The apparatus includes a user interface for presenting an enhanced browsing window of content identified by a link in a page displayed by a browser. The apparatus may include a prefetcher for fetching or prefetching the content and a cache for storing the window. The apparatus may also include an ad interface for retrieving advertisements for display with the content. When a first page is displayed in the browser, content identified by a link to a second page is automatically fetched and an enhanced browsing window, which may initially be invisible, is built. When a user mouses-over a status indicator associated with the link, the window is automatically displayed and the user can navigate the displayed content. The status indicator may change appearance to indicate a status of the prefetching (e.g., initiated, completed, success, failure, communication error).

Within a document (e.g., a web page, a word processing document, a list of electronic mail messages), a link to other content or another document is selected by a computing device and the content is identified before a user clicks on the link to open the content. The content is placed into a safe cache that prevents the content from adversely affecting the user's computing device. The content is scanned and/or its behavior is analyzed to detect any security threats or undesirable content (e.g., viruses, worms, scripts, adware, spyware, pornography). Results of the analysis may be collected at a central server. The link or an associated indicator may be configured to indicate whether a threat is present; more information may be provided as desired. A user may be provided with various options to ignore a threat, disable the link, etc.

摘要： A mouthpiece for a brass wind musical instrument is composed solely of a colored polymer material. Its size and shape may be determined by computer coordinate measurements from a conventional metal mouthpiece. The color is chosen to suit the particular purpose of the musician playing the instrument, such as to match the uniforms of a marching band. The mouthpiece is fabricated by injection molding to substantially the desired size and shape. A secondary machining process removes imperfections such as flashings and gate blushes. Alternately, a blank may be injected molded, and the blank machined in a primary machining operation to the desired size, shape, and surface texture. The mouthpiece may also be manufactured by machining a bar of polymer material. The mouthpiece functions in the identical manner as prior metal mouthpieces, but it is much more comfortable to play in cold and hot environments, and it is less costly and more rugged than metal mouthpieces.

In a specific embodiment, the shielding layer of the spatial light modulator converts incident light energy to electrical current and routes the current back to a source. 摘要： A card shuffling device includes a top surface, a card receiving area for receiving an initial set of playing cards, a randomizing or arranging system for the initial set of playing cards, a collection surface in a card collection area for receiving randomized playing cards, the collection surface receiving cards positioned so that all cards collected are below the top surface of the device, and an elevator for raising the collection surface so that at least some randomized cards are elevated above the top surface of the device. An automatic card shuffler includes a microprocessor with memory. An automated calibration system is provided that calibrates the precise position of the card supporting platform in the elevator so that precise insertion of cards can be performed during card handling procedures. A preferred method operates by a position of the elevator being randomly selected and the support surface is moved to the selected position, and after the gripping arm grasps at least one side of the cards, the elevator lowers, creating a space beneath the gripping arm, wherein a card is moved from the infeed compartment into the space, thereby randomizing the cards.
