    • The subscriber circuit has a balanced amplifier and a built-in call-current polarity changing circuit. Moreover, the output stage circuits of the direct feed-back and offset cancel circuits of the subscriber circuit have the same configuration. By switching the input voltage supplied to the direct feed-back and offset cancel circuits by a switch, the signals fed back to the inputs of the balanced amplifier are switched. Thus, the polarity of the loop current can be inverted. Furthermore, it is possible to switch the loop current without adopting an extra circuit, and the part of the circuit in which the switches are not required to withstand pressure can be constructed with CMOS thereby allowing minimization of the circuit size.

    • An advance transaction processing method in a transaction processing system for conducting transaction by inserting a card as a recording medium into an automatic teller machine by a user and carrying out input operation by the user, involves registering transaction assigning data for assigning transaction operation to be conducted by the user, a transaction restriction condition, and card identifying data on the card carried by the user; allowing an internal storage or a storage of the central processing unit connected to the automatic teller machine to store a transaction-operational procedure by using the transaction assigning data as a key for search; confirming as to whether the transaction restriction condition is satisfied, when the card is inserted into the automatic teller machine; reading the transaction-operational procedure by using the transaction assigning data recorded on the card as the key for search; and allowing the automatic teller machine to execute the processing for the transaction in accordance with the transaction-operational procedure.

    • To provide a content playback device that can use content appropriately by avoiding output of content not permitted to be used according to contract information. A playback control unit 102 extracts a content name from playback control information in a playback path information table 210, and inquires of a rights management unit 108 whether content identified by the extracted content name is playable or not. If the content is judged as being unplayable, the playback control unit 102 extracts an alternative playback number from the playback control information, and extracts a content name from playback control information whose playback number matches the alternative playback number. The playback control unit 102 then instructs a decryption unit 103 and a playback unit 107 to decrypt and play back encrypted content identified by the extracted content name.
