摘要： An electric conductive film is formed on the insulating surface of a substrate, the substrate having a trench formed on the insulating surface, and the conductive film being filled in the trench. Chemical mechanical polishing is executed to expose the insulating surface of the substrate and leave a portion of the conductive film in the trench. The surface of the substrate having the exposed conductive film in the trench and the exposed insulating surface is exposed to first liquid. After being exposed to the first liquid, the surface of the substrate is exposed to second liquid. The first liquid is either solution which contains at least one first substance selected from a first group consisting of benzotriazole, derivative of benzotriazole and interfacial active agent, or water. The second solution is solution which contains the first substance at a density higher than a density of the first liquid.

摘要： A method of generating a slope compensation signal for use in a current mode switching regulator. The method includes the steps of summing a clock signal and a reference signal so as to generate a linear ramp signal; generating a non-linear signal from the linear ramp signal; multiplying a correction signal with an input voltage signal so as to generate a signal which varies based on a measured value of a current flowing within the current mode switching regulator; summing a first voltage signal corresponding to the non-linear correction signal and a second voltage signal indicating the difference between an actual voltage level of the current mode switching regulator and the desired voltage level of the current mode switching regulator so as to generate a first output signal which represents the second voltage signal minus the first voltage signal; and comparing the first output signal and the measured value of a current flowing within the current mode switching regulator, and generating a second output signal utilized to control current flow within the current mode switching regulator based on the result of the comparison.

摘要： A method for growing an epitaxial layer of a group II-VI tenary or quaternary compound on a substrate. In particular a HgCdTe semiconductor layer is grown on a substrate such as sapphire which does not interdiffuse with the materials in the semiconductor layer. Initially a crystalline CdTe semiconductor layer is formed on the substrate and then the substrate with the CdTe layer thereon is placed into an enclosure along with a Hg-Cd-Te source that is rich in Te. The substrate and the source are then heated so as to establish three-phase equilibrium conditions in the enclosure whereby vapors from the source are transported to the CdTe layer and the latter is converted into a ternary semiconductor compound having the composition Hg.sub.1-x Cd.sub.x Te. The substrate with the Hg.sub.1-x Cd.sub.x Te epitaxial layer thereon is useful as a sensing device.
