摘要： For use in a decorative molding system comprising thin flexible plastic molding strips having clips thereon and flexible tracks engaged by the clips, a plastic corner member provided between the adjacent plastic molding strips and forming a corner for receiving a pair of the plastic molding strips having free ends with their longitudinal axis forming an angle at a corner of a room. The plastic corner member comprises a one piece plastic body having side walls intersecting at substantially the same angle as the angle formed by the edges of said ends of adjacent plastic molding strips. Each wall has substantially the same undulating cross sectional configuration as the adjacent plastic molding strips. Each wall has an upper free edge, a lower free edge and a vertical free edge, an outer surface and an inner surface. A flexible plastic clip is attached to each the wall. Each clip has first end and a second free end. The first end is attached to its respective wall intermediate the upper free edge of the wall and the lower free edge of the wall and the second free end of the clip is attached to each the wall extending at an acute angle to the wall of the corner member from the point of attachment. Each free end of each clip on the wall of the corner member interengages the track and holds the corner member in contact with the adjacent molding strips.

摘要： A vent apparatus for cooperating with duct work associated with an exhaust fan to enable air to be exhausted from an interior room of a dwelling to the exterior environment. The vent apparatus includes a base member and a cover member releasably securable to the base member. The base member includes an attaching portion having a plurality of locking portions, while the cover member includes a plurality of flexible latching arm members which releasably engage the locking portions when the cover member is placed over the attaching portion. The attaching portion includes en enlarged opening which enables air exhausted from an interior room to be directed out between the base and cover members to the exterior atmosphere. The apparatus is particularly well-adapted to be used with vinyl or aluminum siding and is relatively inexpensive to construct, light-weight and easy to install. In an alternative embodiment, the apparatus includes a screen adapted to be secured to the base member. The screen has dimensions which enable it to fit within the cover member so as not to be visible once the cover is installed on the base member. The screen prevents insects and small mammals from entering through the base member. The screen is secured to the base member via a plurality of locking arm members which engage within openings formed in the base member such that the screen can be “snapped” onto the base member without special tools or external fastening elements such as threaded screws or the like.

摘要： A component shutter assembly and method of forming same. The assembly comprises a one-piece molded plastic, integrally formed shutter panel. The shutter panel may be molded in a small plurality of standard lengths and then one or both ends thereof cut to shorten the shutter panel to a specific, desired length once it is determined what-specific length of shutter is needed for a particular application. An independent, integrally formed end panel may then be secured to one or both ends of the cut shutter panel and ultrasonically welded thereto to form a finished component shutter assembly having a particular desired length and the appearance of a one-piece, integrally formed shutter. Embodiments directed to raised panel and louvered shutters are disclosed, as is a removable center panel section which may be used in connection with the louvered shutter panels if it is desired to provide a mid-panel section which is offset from the mid-point of the overall length of the shutter panel. By providing standard length shutter panels which may be cut to specific desired lengths, component shutter assemblies can be created which have a wide plurality of overall lengths from only a very small plurality of standard length panels. The assembly of each of the component shutter assemblies disclosed is also simplified considerably as a much smaller plurality of independent component parts are required to be assembled to form a finished component shutter assembly.

The cover member is securable without any external fastening elements to upstanding inner wall portions of the two pieces of the base assembly to form a means for providing a decorative, finished looking appearance to an area on an exterior surface of a building surrounding a conduit or other member projecting through the exterior surface. In preferred embodiments the upstanding inner wall portions include inter-engaging portions and the cover member includes engaging areas. The engaging areas engage with the inter-engaging portions to permit the cover member to be adjustably spaced from the base assembly to accommodate sidings having various thicknesses.
