摘要： A ceramic body, a ceramic catalyst body, a ceramic catalyst body and related manufacturing methods are disclosed wherein a cordierite porous base material has a surface, formed with acicular particles made of a component different from that of cordierite porous base material, which has an increased specific surface area with high resistance to a sintering effect. The ceramic body is manufactured by preparing a slurry containing an acicular particle source material, preparing a porous base material, applying the slurry onto a surface of the porous base material and firing the porous base material, whose surface is coated with the slurry, to cause acicular particles to develop on the surface of the porous base material. A part of or a whole of surfaces of the acicular particles is coated with a constituent element different from that of the acicular particles.

摘要： There is provided a double-deck elevator which does not cause any impacts or vibrations on each cage when adjusting the spacing in the vertical direction between upper and lower cages. Loads on an upper support beam from right and left support arms for hoisting and supporting the upper cage are measured by right and left upper measuring units. Similarly, loads on a lower support beam from right and left support arms for hoisting and supporting the lower cage are measured by right and left lower measuring units. Because the magnitude of the loads on the right and left screw shafts can be obtained correctly, any impacts or vibrations caused on each cage can be prevented when adjusting the spacing in the vertical direction by correctly controlling the drive torque output from right and left drive motors.

摘要： A slider inserting apparatus is constructed such that before a concealed fastener chain is threaded through a slider, the front and back and the rear end of a flange portion and the left and right front surfaces and the left and right side surfaces and the fore-end of a guide post are held between a pair of upper and lower slider holders with a locking pawl held in a releasing position. With the insertion of the fastener chain, the back and rear end of the flange portion is freed from engagement with the lower holder to enable passage of the fastener chain through the slider. The slider is still held from different directions by the holders so that in despite of a unique or odd shape of the slider, the fastener chain can smoothly be threaded through the slider. The slider inserting apparatus is preferably combined with a chain-reversing apparatus having element-reversing grooves, in which instance the top stop applying process and the slider inserting process can be carried out continuously on one and the same processing machine.
