    • An electrophotographic photosensitive member comprises a drum-shaped or endless-sheet-shaped light-transmissive carrier made of a light-transmissive resin, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of which has maximum and mean roughness both ranging from 0.3 .mu.m to 4.0 .mu.m, and a photosensitive layer is formed on one of the surfaces of the carrier. The photosensitive layer has a laminate structure composed of a charge generating layer and a charge transporting layer. A light-transmissive layer containing fine particles dispersed in a binder resin may be provided between the light-transmissive carrier and the photosensitive member. An electrophotographic apparatus incorporating this electrophotographic photosensitive member has an image exposure light source such as a laser or an LED array disposed at the side of the photosensitive member adjacent the carrier so as to apply an exposure light to the photosensitive member through the light-transmissive carrier. A facsimile apparatus incorporates this electrophotographic apparatus as a printer.

    • An electrophotographic device performing reversal development to develop the portion with lower absolute value of potential in an electrophotographic process having steps of primary charging, imagewise exposure, developing and cleaning, and having a photosensitive member of the lamination type which uses a layer coated with an organic pigment dispersed in a solvent or in a solvent and a polymer binder, as the charge generation layer, wherein the potential of the photosensitive member and process conditions are under constant conditions, said constant conditions being within the range as defined by the following formula of Vd, t and V.sub.H, when the surface potential of the photosensitive member immediately after charged with a primary charger is defined as Vd (V), the time from primary charging to toner development as t (sec) and further the surface potential of the photosensitive member at which the toner developing density becomes the half value of the saturated density as V.sub.H (V):.vertline.V.sub.H .vertline..ltoreq.(.vertline.Vd.vertline..sup.-0.65 +1.35.times.10.sup.-2 t).sup.-1.54(Vd, V.sub.H are of the same sign:); with proviso, in the case of bias exposure (image exposure is also effected on the white background portion), Vd shall be the potential immediately after imagewise exposure, and t the time from imagewise exposure to toner development.

    • There is provided an image-forming device including: a photosensitive member having a photosensitive layer including an organic photoconductive material, a charging devices, an image exposure devices for exposing the pre-transfer material to form a latent image, a developing devices for developing the latent image with a toner to form a transferable toner image on the surface of the photosensitive member, a pre-transfer exposure devices for exposing the photosensitive member carrying the toner image, and a transfer devices for transferring the toner image to a transfer material; the charging devices, image exposure devices, developing devices pre-transfer exposure devices, and transfer devices are disposed in this order along the moving direction of the photosensitive member; wherein the light from the pre-transfer exposure devices is scattered light and the intensity of the scattered light is two or more times that of the light used for the image exposure. Such an image-forming devices can stably transfer a toner image from a photosensitive member to a transfer material and can provide an image of good quality without a ghost image.
