摘要： An apparatus for placing fiber bales into readiness for removing fiber tufts therefrom by a travelling bale opener has a fiber bale depositing device for positioning an initial fiber bale at an inclined orientation to the vertical and for positioning, adjacent the initial fiber bale, an additional fiber bale at an angle of inclination greater than the angle of inclination of the initial bale as viewed codirectionally with the angle of the initial bale; a bale-supporting device for engaging and stabilizing the initial fiber bale; a displacing device for moving the bale-supporting device into and out of engagement with the initial fiber bale; and a control device for automatically operating the fiber bale depositing device and the displacing device for automatically and sequentially depositing the initial fiber bale, moving the bale-supporting device into engagement with the initial fiber bale, depositing the additional fiber bale into a countersupporting engagement with the initial fiber bale and moving the bale-supporting device out of engagement with the initial fiber bale.

摘要： An automatic startup device in a carding machine includes a roll assembly for discharging the fiber web; and a web transporting arrangement situated under the roll assembly for gathering and advancing the web. The web transporting arrangement is formed of two adjoining, driven endless belts which together define a gap through which the web is discharged downwardly. The two endless belts or portions thereof are simultaneously shiftable horizontally to cause the web discharge gap to assume first and second locations spaced horizontaly from one another. There is further provided a trumpet situated under the web gathering belts. The trumpet has separable parts between which the web is introduced from the web discharge gap. In a separated position the two trumpet parts are at a relatively large distance from one another, whereby the web is discharged by the trumpet in a substantially unaltered state and in a joined position the two trumpet parts are at a relatively small distance from one another, whereby the web is compressed and discharged by the trumpet as a sliver. The trumpet, or parts thereof are moveable horizontally, so that the trumpet inlet is situated substantially vertically underneath the shiftable discharge gap in both of its locations. There are further provided a web delivery arrangement which is underneath the trumpet outlet when the web discharge gap is in its first location and a calender roll pair which is underneath the trumpet outlet when the web discharge gap is in its second location.

The trumpet has separable parts between which the web in introduced. In a first position the two trumpet parts are at a relatively large distance from one another, whereby the web is discharged by the trumpet in a substantially unaltered state and in a second position the two trumpet parts are at a relatively small distance from one another, whereby the web is compressed and discharged by the trumpet as a sliver. There are further provided a web delivery arrangement under the trumpet for receiving and removing the web; and a calender roll pair arranged under the trumpet for receiving and advancing the sliver discharged by the trumpet.

摘要： A fiber feeder apparatus includes a driven endless supply conveyor belt having a coneveying surface for supporting a fiber pile and an endless spiked lattice arranged at one end of the supply conveyor belt and extending at an upward inclination therefrom. The spiked lattice has spikes arranged to penetrate into the fiber pile for effecting removal of fibers from the fiber pile. The supply conveyor belt is driven such that the fiber pile is being fed by the conveying surface into contact with the spikes. There is further provided a control device which is connected to the drive of the supply conveyor belt for effecting a nonuniform driving thereof.
