摘要： A tissue harvesting and processing apparatus comprises a body and a distally extending needle. The needle includes an aperture configured to receive tissue. A tissue cutting member is movable relative to the needle to sever a specimen from tissue protruding through the aperture. A tissue processor is operable to mince tissue severed by the tissue cutting member. The minced tissue may be mixed with a medical fluid component contained in a reservoir. The medical fluid mixture may be expelled through an applier tip coupled with the body. The tissue processor may comprise a mincing die such that tissue specimens are minced upon being extruded through the mincing die. The tissue processor may comprise a blade that cooperates with a sliding press. The tissue processor may comprise auger blade sections that cooperate with inwardly extending pins. A mixing piston may mix the minced tissue with the medical fluid component.

The cradle has a pair of substantially perpendicular mounting arms. Each mounting arm has a recess that may receive a rail of the carriage, such that the cradle may be mounted to the same rail in different orientations. Each mounting arm also has a biopsy device mounting feature, which may be a recess or a rail. The biopsy device mounting feature is configured to engage with a complementary feature of a biopsy device, such that a biopsy device may be mounted to either mounting arm. A z-stop feature is operable to selectively restrict longitudinal motion along either or both of the biopsy device mounting features. The targeting set may be used with a biopsy device in an MRI environment.

The tubular member is insertable into a patient through a trocar to open the bag within the patient to receive a tissue specimen. The internal capacity provided by the bag may vary based on the longitudinal position of the frame members. The bag may be stretchable to increase its internal capacity. At least one sidewall of the bag may include one or more reinforcement members, which may influence the way in which the bag stretches by restricting stretching of the bag in one or more directions while freely permitting stretching of the bag in one or more other directions. Part of the undeployed bag may be contained in a recess formed in the side of the tubular member, with a removable cap being positionable over the undeployed bag and recess.

摘要： A biopsy device comprises a targeting set assembly, a probe assembly, and a holster assembly, which are detachable from one another. The targeting set assembly comprises a needle assembly, which comprises a connecting member. The probe assembly comprises components configured to selectively attach to the connecting member of the needle assembly. In some versions, the connecting member comprises a recess, and the probe assembly comprises a protrusion configured to selectively engage the recess. The protrusion may be provided on a rocking member or on a resilient arm. The rocking member or resilient arm may bias the protrusion to enter the recess. The connection of the probe assembly to needle assembly provides a device for use during a biopsy procedure. The connection of the probe assembly to needle assembly may further permit rotation of the needle assembly for indexing.

Each media reservoir is configured to receive at least one component of a tissue repair composition. The end effector is configured for insertion into a lumen to deliver a tissue repair composition into that lumen. The end effector has at least one fluid conduit and at least one orifice in communication with the fluid conduit. The pumping device is operable to urge a tissue repair composition comprising at least a portion of the contents of the plurality of media reservoirs through the fluid conduit of the end effector such that the tissue repair composition is expelled from the at least one orifice. The media reservoirs may contain medical fluid components such as viable cells and scaffold material to repair a fistula or address some other condition in a patient.

One or two resilient arms expand the bag along a first plane to open the mouth of the bag. Another resilient arm expands the bag along a second plane to unfurl the bag. The first plane is substantially perpendicular to the second plane. The device further comprises a support tube having a passageway and a push/pull rod slidingly positioned within the passageway. The resilient arms are engaged with the push/pull rod such that the resilient arms and the push/pull rod travel uniformly relative to the longitudinal axis of the support tube. The arms collapse within the support tube and are resiliently biased to extend outwardly when the push/pull rod is translated distally relative to the support tube to expose the bag and arms.

The tissue retrieval bag may me formed of an environmentally sensitive material such that the size of the tissue retrieval bag expands when the tissue retrieval bag is exposed within the patient.

摘要： A disposable loading unit for operable attachment to a surgical stapling apparatus. The disposable loading unit may have a carrier that supports a staple cartridge and an anvil assembly that is movable coupled to the carrier. The various embodiments may further have an axial drive assembly that is configured to impart a closing motion to the anvil assembly and also supports a cutting blade thereon. The axial drive assembly is configured to receive firing motions and retraction motions from the surgical stapling apparatus. Various embodiments have an anvil release assembly that enables the anvil assembly to be released from a clamping orientation in the event that the cutting blade becomes jammed during operation.

The probe assembly comprises a tissue cutter, a body, cutter driving mechanism components, and a sliding cutter cover. The cutter extends from a distal portion of the probe assembly. This extension of the sliding cutter cover shields a user of the biopsy device from the sharp cutter. The sliding cutter cover further retracts into the probe assembly when the probe assembly is coupled with the needle assembly of the targeting set assembly. The cover may be resiliently biased to extend distally from the probe assembly.
