    • The present invention provides an air conditioning apparatus in which a suction air stream drawn in the rotational direction of a propeller fan as it bypasses a baffle board, and a discharge air stream guided by a guide plate in the anti-rotational direction of the propeller fan toward the inner surface of the baffle board flow in the opposite directions and met each other in the air passage in a suction chamber, so that a powerful vortex of air is generated, the power of which is further increased by the curl plate extending so as to surround the center of the vortex. Therefore, a large quantity of water in the water storage recess in the upper surface of the bottom plate is lifted, and the resultant water turns into water droplets, which are then mixed in large quantities in the suction air stream entering the fan, whereby the water can be evaporated speedily.

    • An outdoor unit for use in a separate type air conditioner which includes an outdoor unit and an indoor unit each having at least a compressor, a heat exchanger, and a expansion device, with one unit connected with the other by refrigerant-tubes so that they altogether form an air conditioning system. The outdoor unit comprises: a baseplate, a housing having a first air intake window (side air intake window) in one of its side walls, a second air intake window (rear air intake window) formed in the rear wall extending upright from the baseplate, and an air outlet window (front air outlet window) formed in the front wall; a partition board extending upright from the baseplate and portioning for the internal space of the housing into a fan compartment for accommodating the heat exchanger and a fan for supplying air to the heat exchanger; and a machinery compartment for accommodating the compressor. The outdoor unit is characterized in that: the heat exchanger mounted upright on the baseplate extends over the rear air intake window; the partition board is provided in front of the heat exchanger; the partition board is disposed in front of the heat exchanger by securing a peripheral frame of the partition board on the front end of a peripheral frame of the heat exchanger by screws applied from the rear of the heat exchanger.

    • An SHG element has a semiconductor laser, and a laser resonator for exciting an oscillation line having a predetermined wavelength by making a light beam emitted from the semiconductor laser incident to the laser resonator. The laser resonator converts the wavelength on the oscillation line by a nonlinear optical crystal and emits SHG light having a converted wavelength. The laser resonator uses Nd:YVO.sub.4 as a laser medium for exciting the oscillation line having the predetermined wavelength. The semiconductor laser emits a light beam having power required to obtain the SHG light having predetermined power from the laser resonator when Nd:YVO.sub.4 is used as the laser medium of the laser resonator. A light source device has a semiconductor laser capable of directly modulating light; a wavelength converting section for emitting light having a short wavelength based on LD light from the semiconductor laser; and a device for superposing the LD light from the semiconductor laser on the light having a short wavelength to emit superposed light. An optical pickup uses this light source device.

    • An optomagnetic information recording and reproducing apparatus includes an optomagnetic optical pick-up for recording or reproducing information on or from an optomagnetic information recording disc. An optomagnetic optical pick-up includes a first diffraction grating for receiving light reflected from the disc and separating the light into a first transmitting light which transmits through the first diffraction grating beam and a first diffracted light beam which is diffracted by the first diffraction grating. A second diffraction grating is disposed to receive the first transmitging and diffracted light beams and discharges a second transmitting light beam and a second diffracted light beam. A tracking error detector is provided to receive the second transmitting light beam and a focusing error detector is disposed to receive the second diffracted light beam. An optomagnetic signal is obtained as a difference between outputs from the tracking and focusing error detectors.

    • An optical reproducing apparatus has a dual grating provided with a substrate, a first diffraction grating and a second diffraction grating. The first grating receives an incident light reflected from an optical recording medium and separates the reflected light into a first transmitted light and a first diffracted light. The second grating receives the first transmitted light and the first diffracted light through the substrate and discharges a second diffracted light and a second transmitted light. A tracking error signal detector detects a tracking error signal by receiving one of the second transmitted light and the second diffracted light.
