    • In the optical beams scanning apparatus and an image forming apparatus having this optical beam scanning apparatus according to this invention, a light emitting unit emits plural laser beams set at a predetermined output in advance, and a scanning unit deflects the emitted plural laser beams and scans with them. A laser beam output setting unit arranges the light emitting unit so that scanning positions of the plural laser beams are arrayed in time series in a main scanning direction on the same line, and sets the output of laser beams cast onto a photoconductor by using the plural laser beams. A writing unit writes an image to the photoconductor with the preset output of the laser beams cast onto the photoconductor, using the plural laser beams used for scanning. With the optical beam scanning apparatus and the image forming apparatus having this optical beam scanning apparatus according to this invention, the output of laser beams cast onto a photoconductive drum can be controlled at a high speed.

    • A laser beam scanning apparatus according to the invention includes: a laser oscillating unit that outputs a laser beam; a laser beam scanning unit that performs scanning in a main scanning direction with a laser beam and irradiates the laser beam on a photosensitive member via an optical lens; an error signal generating unit that monitors, in a predetermined period, intensity of a laser beam outputted from the laser oscillating unit and generates an error signal of an error between output intensity of the laser oscillating unit and a predetermined output reference value; a correction signal generating unit that generates a correction signal for correcting output intensity of a laser beam according to a change in optical efficiency in the main scanning direction such that intensity of the laser beam in the main scanning direction on the photosensitive member is constant; and a laser control signal generating unit that holds, during the image formation period, a reference signal generated on the basis of the error signal and applies the correction signal to the reference signal to generate a laser control signal for determining intensity of a laser beam outputted from the laser oscillating unit. The correction signal generated by the correction signal generating unit is a correction signal for correcting sensitivity of the photosensitive member including a change in the sensitivity with time and is a correction signal for further applying correction corresponding to a change in optical efficiency in the main scanning direction to output intensity of a laser beam with the change in the sensitivity with time corrected.

    • A beam light scanning apparatus capable of reducing influences of variations in characteristics of circuits disposed in a signal path extending until a laser driver and speeding up image data transfer for scan and exposure. Data of each line is distributed by an image data I/F into data trains of two channels, i.e., an odd-numbered pixel train and an even-numbered pixel train. The data in the two-channel trains are written by writing units into a plurality of memories in parallel for each of the trains in response to a line sync signal. During the same processing cycle as that for the writing, the data are read out of the memories in parallel by reading units. The data of two channels are combined by a multiplexer into a data train in the original order of pixels in each line, and a driving signal based on the combined data is generated by a PWM. A laser is driven by the driving signal.
