    • Multiplexers are used to generate synchronized slave clocks from a common master clock. A first multiplexer and a second multiplexer generate a first slave clock and a second slave clock, respectively, from the common master clock. A third multiplexer and a fourth multiplexer are configured as a divide-by-n circuit for providing a third slave clock that is a divided version of the second slave clock. A fifth multiplexer provides a matching delay to preserve the synchronization between the first slave clock and the other slave clocks. A sixth multiplexer is used to select between the second slave clock and the third slave clock in response to a select signal. A flip-flop may be used to provide the select signal and to guard against false selection of slave clocks.

    • A communications system includes a vector modulator controller receiving a data stream and developing a vector modulator control signal by GMSK waveform synthesis and a transmitter having a vector portion controlled by the vector modulator control signal. The vector modulator controller includes: (1) ROM memory storing a plurality of waveform maps including an alternating map, a constant map, a monotonic sine map, and a monotonic cosine map; (2) a counter coupled to the ROM memory and capable of developing a sequence of ROM addresses; (3) a temporal bit generator responsive to a data stream, the temporal bit generator developing a next bit Nb, a current bit Cb, and a past bit Pb from the data stream; (4) control circuitry to develop a digital waveform signal from selected waveform maps in the ROM memory; and (5) a pair of DACs responsive to the digital waveform signal and operative to output a vector modulator control signal that encodes the data stream. A method for providing a modulated control includes: (1) storing a plurality of waveform maps; (2) generating a plurality of temporal bits including a next bit Nb, a current bit Cb, and a past bit Pb from a data stream; (3) developing a series of addresses; (4) developing a digital waveform utilizing the Nb, Cb, and Pb bits and the sequence of digital outputs of the memory; and (5) converting the digital waveform signal to an analog vector modulator control signal that encodes the data stream.

    • An amusing and challenging device composed of a closed container divided into a plurality of chambers by a barrier, or barriers, and a plurality of movable bodies, usually spherical, encased therein. The container, barrier and movable bodies are of electrically insulating material and the movable bodies are of such small size that after the container is agitated, a sufficient static electrical charge is produced by the friction on the movable bodies so as to cause them to adhere to the walls of the chambers. The objective of this device is to challenge ones ability to locate all of the movable objects into one chamber after the unit has been sufficiently agitated, therefore the container and barriers are made of transparent materials to allow easy viewing of the objects therein. In the presently preferred form of the device there is one barrier, dividing the container into two chambers, and a plurality of movable spherical objects.
