    • In one example, a method of examining a container is disclosed comprising detecting a potential threat within contents of a container using radiation scanning and disabling the potential threat with radiation. In another example, a method of examining a container is disclosed comprising scanning at least a portion of the container with a first radiation beam, detecting radiation interacting with contents of the container, identifying a potential threat contained based, at least in part, on the detected radiation, and disabling the potential threat with a dose of radiation from a second radiation beam. The potential threat may be a nuclear, chemical, and/or biological weapon, for example. Chemical and/or biological detectors may also be provided. The threat and/or electronics associated with the threat, may be disabled. Systems are also disclosed.

    • An IBM-compatible computer based engine analyzer includes a RAM memory in a ROM cartridge location. A data acquisition system operates substantially independently of the system microprocessor to acquire engine test signals, convert them to digital form and store them via a register in the RAM memory. The system microprocessor has access to the RAM memory via a buffer for reading and changing the data therein. Control logic regulates access to the RAM memory by the A/D converter and the system microprocessor by controlling operation of the register and the buffer.

The firing mechanism of the invention provides for semi-automatic fire from the closed-bolt position, and for full automatic fire from the open bolt position, with a selector to permit selection by the gunner.

    • A building construction system uses a mold set up at a construction site so that the external part of the mold is spaced clear of the internal part. Building elements including those which are functional in the construction operation are arranged around the internal mold part. Such functional elements include connecting rod anchorages around the lower region of the mold, and the like. The external mold part is moved into position near the internal mold part, and the mold is filled to form a casting. A lifting frame is arranged over the mold and adjustably connected to the connecting rods. Then the external mold part is moved away to release the casting, and the frame is lifted to raise the casting up over the mold for movement to a building site near the construction site. To facilitate release of the casting from the internal mold part, the internal mold portion is formed of outward facing walls that are supported so they are braced against inward motion from a lowermost position and are permitted to move inwardly as the walls are raised from the lowermost position. This affords clearance between the internal mold parts and the casting as the casting is lifted. The mold also has corner release means and the system may include release elements affixed to the building during casting.
