    • Disclosed is a method for selecting and managing a mobility protocol between a network and a terminal in a mobile communication system. When the terminal is to setup an IP tunnel for data transmission/reception with the network supporting a plurality of mobility protocols, firstly, the terminal is configured to transmit a list of terminal-supported mobility protocols and/or its preference information (e.g., information about mobility protocol preferred by the terminal) to the network, and secondly, the network is configured to determine (select) a mobility protocol of an IP tunnel for data transmission/reception with the terminal based on the information, thereby enhancing an efficiency of the resource when the IP tunnel is setup between the terminal and the network.

    • A method for supporting session continuity for a terminal in a server including generating a session continuity operator policy, under a state that a first terminal is performing a session with a second terminal through a first network, and the generated session continuity operator policy supports multimedia sessions for both voice data and non-voice data and includes operator policy parameters indicating whether only voice data, only non-voice data, or both voice and non-voice data is to be transferred to a second network; sending the generated session continuity operator policy to the first terminal; receiving a session invite message from the first terminal via a target network in response to the first terminal having received the generated session continuity operator policy; and sending a session re-invite message to the second terminal so as to achieve session continuity via said second network after receiving the session invite message from the first terminal.

    • A session mobility support is disclosed. An application server (AS) can accurately recognize a session update by checking a Replace header, a user ID and a media element included in a session invitation message (or an SIP-based INVITE message) received from a UE (User Equipment), to thus guarantee successful mobility of a session. In addition, in order to allow the AS to accurately recognize the session update, the UE first transmits the session invitation message including the Replace header via a PS (Packet Switching domain, and then, after a response to the session invitation message is received, the UE transmits a call setup message (e.g., SETUP message) via a CS (Circuit Switching) domain.
