摘要： The invention relates to an improved process and apparatus to produce a filter cake formed by retained solids collected on a filter cloth during filtering. Accordingly, the filter cake is sub-divided into a plurality of filter cake elements which are kept separate from each other at predetermined distances. Further, impermeable zones on the filter cloth are formed around the filter cake elements. The filter cake elements and the impermeable zones are of a size that the filter cake elements can freely contract in any plane without cracking, while the filter cloth between the filter cake elements is covered by the impermeable zones.

摘要： The leaders of successive topmost sheets of a stack of sheets are lifted by a set of aligned suction cups which move each leader into a horizontal plane including the nip of two advancing rolls. The suction cups insert the leading edge of each leader into the nip and continue to adhere to the leader while the latter is advanced by the rolls so that the leader pulls the suction cups against the opposition of a weak spring tending to move the suction cups and their mobile support to a starting position. The drive for the advancing rolls is thereupon arrested for an interval of time which suffices to ensure the collapse of suction in the cups by arresting the suction pump and by simultaneously opening a valve which connects the interior of each cup with the atmosphere.

The storage layer is supported on a support surface that is defined by an x-y plane and a relative movement is generated between the receiving device and the storage layer in the x direction. The receiving device or the storage layer is guided during the generation of the relative movement by a guide system on a guide surface. Using first and second partial guides, an interspacing is adjusted in a z direction that lies perpendicular to the x-y plane, on either side—viewed in the z direction—of the support surface. The guide surface is independent of the storage layer and the first and second partial guides are connected to one another and are pretensioned against one another, and act in a pincer-like manner on the support surface.
