    • Methods, systems and devices for recording data are described herein. In one embodiment a method for recording data for keeping a diary may include: storing primary data indicative of a measured blood glucose level and/or an administrated dose of insulin in a memory of an electronic diary device; receiving a spoken voice message with a microphone, wherein the spoken voice message is indicative of supplementary data directly related to the primary data; and storing the supplementary data in the memory of the electronic diary device, wherein the primary data is stored with a primary time stamp and the supplementary data is stored with the primary data, the primary time stamp or a supplementary time stamp.

    • Included are embodiments of an ambulatory infusion device. Some embodiments include a battery receiving portion that receives a user-replaceable battery of variable individual characteristics. The user-replaceable battery may serve as a primary power source of the ambulatory infusion device and being successively depleted during application. Similarly, some embodiments include a dosing unit with an electrically powered actuator and an electronic controller that controls operation of the ambulatory infusion device. Still some embodiments include a testing unit that is operatively coupled to the electronic controller, the testing unit being designed to carry out a battery test, the battery test including determining an off-circuit voltage and an internal resistance of the user-replaceable battery. Still some embodiments include an alerting unit that is operatively coupled to the testing unit and/or the electronic controller to provide an alert to a device user in dependence of a battery test result.

    • An ambulatory infusion device for the infusion of a liquid drug into a patient's body over an extended time period is disclosed. The infusion device provides a housing having a cartridge compartment designed to receive a cartridge, a drive having a plunger adapted to engage a plug of the cartridge and to displace the plug within the cartridge in a controlled way, and an electronic controller controlling operation of the drive. The infusion device further has a position memory which stores at least one stored loading position of the plunger, and in which the controller retrieves a stored loading position from the position memory and controls the drive to displace the plunger into the retrieved loading position. A system for ambulatory drug infusion comprising such an ambulatory infusion device as well as a filling apparatus and a method for loading a cartridge into such a device are also disclosed.
