A fletching system includes a sleeve and at least one vane, preferably a plurality of vanes, extending away from the sleeve. In a mounted position of the sleeve with respect to an arrow shaft, the sleeve is removably secured with respect to the arrow shaft. In some embodiments, a stop extends from the sleeve and interferes and/or makes frictional contact with the arrow shaft to prevent movement of the sleeve with respect to the arrow shaft. In other embodiments, an adhesive structure, such as an adhesive tape, contacts the sleeve and the arrow shaft to prevent movement of the sleeve with respect to the arrow shaft.

    • A rotatable arrowhead having a blade-carrying body that rotates with respect to a shaft that is attached with respect to an arrow shaft. In one embodiment, the rotatable arrowhead has a body and a tip portion that preferably rotate together with respect to the shaft of the arrowhead. The shaft extends within a through bore of the body. A portion of the shaft has a peripheral retention groove about at least a portion of a periphery of the shaft. The tip portion accommodates a retainer. In an assembled condition of the arrowhead, the retainer is positioned within the retention groove. In another embodiment, the rotatable arrowhead has a body that rotates with respect to the shaft of the arrowhead. The shaft extends within the through bore of the body, either partially or completely. The retainer can be mounted within the body or the tip portion, depending upon whether or not the tip portion rotates with respect to the body.

    • A bleeder attachment for arrows which fits over the arrow shaft directly behind the arrowhead. The bleeder attachment body may be bulbous or any other suitable shape, and includes a plurality of barbs which extend outwardly and are disposed toward its front end. A lip on the front end of the bleeder attachment body may be used to secure the bleeder attachment to the arrow by disposing the lip between the arrowhead and the arrow shaft. Grooves may be provided on the outer surface of the bleeder attachment body to promote fluid drainage. The bleeder attachment assures quick and sure killing of an animal hit by an arrow of this invention and is readily removable from the arrow.

    • A bowsight for attachment to a bow. The bowsight has a crosswire frame which is supported by a bracket held to the bow. A pin slide is formed in an inner frame member and has a cylindrical opening. The pins can emit light and are mounted in transparent discs which slide into the cylindrical opening and which are tightened by an Allen screw against a slot in the disc, thereby expanding the disc against the side of the pin slot. The transparent disc gathers surrounding light and transmits or directs the light to the light-emitting pin. A lens or a light-emitting source can be positioned in the cylindrical opening to surround the transparent disc with light. The crosswire frame may be incrementally moved up and down with respect to the bracket by locking a spring-loaded ball bearing in any one of a plurality of detents in the frame. The spring-loaded ball bearing may be forcibly engaged so that the spring is completely compressed thereby locking the ball bearing in a chosen detent.

The draw bowstring and the propelling bowstring are in draw force communication between a predetermined position on the propelling bowstring and the draw bowstring whereby force is applied to the propelling bowstring only at that predetermined position. The tension in opposite ends of the propelling bowstring and the force in opposite ends of the primary energy storage means is equalized and when released propels the arrow in a reproducible fashion without wobble or porpoising.
