    • A fabricated, knock-down merchandise display fixture which includes a base having forwardly disposed generally vertically extending spaced structural arms mounted in coupled relation to the base, generally adjacent the forward boundary of the base, and extending upwardly relative to the base, with the arms being adapted to provide structural support for the merchandise display deck of the fixture, and with the coupling of the arms providing for folding of the arms relative to the base, thus decreasing the overall height of the base and arms and facilitating shipment of the fixture in knock-down condition. A drawer structure adapted for being disposed in sliding condition on the base, is provided with the drawer including a removable front panel with a rotatable cam lock for detachably securing the front panel to the drawer. The general idea is to simplify the assembly and skill necessary to assemble the fixture at the site of use, while facilitating shipment of the fixture to the site.

    • Apparatus for releasably attaching a sign to a display stand. The sign comprises a sheet of material folded into a central section and a pair of upstanding display sections. The sign support inludes a pair of pivotally connected support members. One support member is releasably attached to the support surface and supports the central section of the sign. The other support member engages the display sections of the sign and maintains them in an upright orientation relative to the support surface. Mating catches on the support members secure the support members to each other in order to securely engage the sign. The engagement between the mating catches may be released in order to pivot the support members relative to each other so that the sign may be removed from the sign support, without removing the sign support from the support surface. The sign support is preferably formed as a unitary, molded plastic article.

    • Brander apparatus, for container filling and sealing machines, is actuated by independent driving means controlled by movement or operation of carton treating apparatus at a station in the filling and sealing machine spaced from the brander station. An anvil and a dater block, having protruding date indicia, are mounted so that one is movable toward the other for branding, via actuation of an associated air cylinder and reciprocating cylinder shaft. In several embodiments, pressurized air is transmitted to the cylinder by a valve which is positioned to be actuated by movement of the carbon treating apparatus. In another embodiment, the brander actuating cylinder is commonly actuated with actuation of another cylinder for upstream carton treatment. Additional control apparatus is provided for eliminating the double branding of containers.

    • In an MR system employing a phased array surface coil, a method is provided for reducing artifacts in an MR image acquired from a region of an object lying within a specified field of view, wherein the field of view has a dimension extending between first and second boundary limits. The method includes the step of positioning the phased array surface coil, which comprises a linear array of coil elements, in selected spatial relationship with the object region. The method further comprises selecting a particular coil element for use in acquiring MR data only if the coil element lies at least partially in a range which extends along the phased array and has a length equal to the field of view dimension, the range lying between positions respectively corresponding to the first and second boundary limits. Each of the selected coil elements is operated to acquire MR data from respectively corresponding subregions of the object region, and the MR image is constructed only from MR data acquired by respective selected coil elements.

    • An ultraviolet water treatment plant is provided in which individual ultraviolet lamp units are loosely and retractably located within frames supported in a water treatment channel. Individual frames supporting arrays of parallel lamp units may be removed from the channel, and the lamp units may be individually disengaged from the frame and disassembled for lamp replacement. The frames have unitary plug connectors to a power supply arranged so that the plug of a frame must be disengaged from the supply before that frame can be removed from the channel. The level of water in the channel is controlled according to the rate of flow, and the lamp units are selectively energized according to whether they are immersed so as to match the irradiation provided to the rate and cross section of the flow.
