The enterprise component map is partitioned into non-overlapping managing concepts, where each competency is formed of one or more managing concepts. Overlays of the current state of the business upon the component map are used to determine differences between the component map and the current state of the business, and these differences are prioritized for alignment of the business to high priority components of the component map.
