摘要： A new method of binding at least one article, and a new binding strap for use in binding an article or articles is taught. The new binding strap for preferred use in practicing the new method comprises an elongate base sheet having an array of parallel, narrowly spaced, elastically deformable ribs projecting integrally from the base sheet; the ribs comprising a stem portion attached to and substantially upright from the base sheet and a flange attached to at least one side of the stem portion and spaced from the base sheet; the array of ribs establishing a first fastening surface that can be pressed against and thereby interconnected with an identical fastening surface; the underside surface of the outer portion of at least some flanges projecting downwardly toward the base sheet; and the flange having a substantial thickness over most of its width such that the stem portion deforms in preference to the flange during peel-type disengagement from an identical fastening surface; and the strap having a length and width adapting the strap to be wrapped around one or more articles to apply a binding action on the article(s).

摘要： A die comprising two die cavities, with each capable of supplying polymeric material, and a distribution plate interposed between at least a portion of each of the two die cavities. The distribution plate has a dispensing edge and a plurality of extrusion channels. First and second extrusion channels extend from entrance openings at the first and second die cavities, respectively, to exit openings on the dispensing edge. The exit openings of the first and second extrusion channels are disposed in alternating positions along the dispensing edge. A method of extruding with such a die and an extruded article made therefrom are also disclosed. The method includes co-extruding a first polymeric composition and a second polymeric composition. The extruded article comprises a plurality of longitudinal first stripes of the first polymeric composition alternating with a plurality of longitudinal second stripes of the second polymeric composition.

摘要： A die comprising two die cavities, with each capable of supplying polymeric material, and a distribution plate interposed between at least a portion of each of the two die cavities. The distribution plate has a dispensing edge and a plurality of extrusion channels. First and second extrusion channels extend from entrance openings at the first and second die cavities, respectively, to exit openings on the dispensing edge. The exit openings of the first and second extrusion channels are disposed in alternating positions along the dispensing edge. A method of extruding with such a die and an extruded article made therefrom are also disclosed. The method includes co-extruding a first polymeric composition and a second polymeric composition. 摘要： A method for forming a polylactide film includes the steps (a) through (c). In step (a), a treated tool surface is provided with a release coating. The treated tool surface is maintained at a predetermined temperature of about the glass transition temperature of the polylactide or higher. In step (b) the treated tool surface is contacted with a molten polylactide composition to provide a polylactide film The film is at least partially crystalline, and the crystallinity of the polylactide film is enhanced due to exposure of the molten polylactide composition to the treated tool surface at the predetermined temperature. In step (c) the polylactide film is removed from the treated tool surface. Additionally, a film is provided that is made by the foregoing method, and the film may be formed into an article or a part of an article. In some cases, the article is a disposable garment such as a diaper. In other cases, the article may be a tape made with the foregoing film, where the film includes first and second major surfaces and a layer of adhesive on at least one of the major surfaces.

The profile extruded film is cut in regular intervals along the X-dimension on one or more faces or alternatively in alternating fashion on the first face and the second face. The cut film is then stretched (oriented) in the lengthwise dimension creating a nonplanar netting characterized by land portions on the top and bottom surfaces with connecting leg portions extending between the land portion on the top and bottom surfaces.
