摘要： The purpose is to prevent ammonia from flowing out of a NOx selective reduction catalyst when an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas flowing into a NOx storage/reduction catalyst decreases. An NSR catalyst, a NOx sensor, and an SCR catalyst are provided in an exhaust passage in sequence from an upstream side, and a control apparatus is further provided to determine an amount of ammonia supplied to the NOx selective catalytic reduction catalyst on the basis of a detection value of the NOx sensor. When the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the NOx storage/reduction catalyst is set at or below a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, an amount of ammonia supplied from an ammonia supply apparatus relative to the detection value of the NOx sensor is decreased so as to be smaller than when the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas is larger than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio.

摘要： An exhaust gas purifying device that is provided in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine and purifies exhaust gas, and a reducing agent injection valve that injects fuel to a position upstream of the exhaust gas purifying device in the exhaust passage are provided. A timing for injecting fuel from the reducing agent injection valve is adjusted to match a timing when exhaust gas discharged on an exhaust stroke of each of cylinders of the internal combustion engine reaches the position to which fuel is injected from the reducing agent injection valve. A single injection amount is changed in accordance with a condition of combustion exhaust gas that is discharged on one exhaust stroke of each of the cylinders and reaches the point to inject fuel.

A method of purifying an exhaust gas emitted from the above engine is also provided.

摘要： A reduction in the accuracy of a failure determination of a filter due to a reduction in the detection accuracy of a PM sensor is suppressed. To this end, provision is made for an NOx selective reduction catalyst arranged in an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine to reduce NOx by means of a reducing agent supplied thereto, a supply device to supply urea water as the reducing agent from an upstream side of the NOx selective reduction catalyst, a PM sensor to detect an amount of particulate matter in an exhaust gas at the downstream side of the NOx selective reduction catalyst, and a control unit to make an amount of production of intermediate products from the urea water supplied from the supply device to ammonia smaller when an amount of particulate matter is detected by the PM sensor than when not detected.
