    • A method and system for handling working of a Low Duty Cycle (LDC) mode of one or more Base Stations (BS) in a wireless communication network. The method includes defining one or more LDC patterns based plurality of LDC parameters associated with one or more BS where the plurality of LDC parameters includes an active period, an inactive period and a start frame offset of the one or more BS in the wireless communication network. The method then sends the one or more LDC patterns notifying Available Interval and Unavailable Interval of each of the one or more patterns to a Mobile Station (MS) by broadcasting one or more LDC patterns, unicasting the one or more LDC pattern to the MS, multicasting the one or more LDC pattern to a group of MSs or send the one or more LDC patterns to one or more MS in a pre-provisioned way.

    • An execution environment may have a monitoring, analysis, and feedback loop that may configure and tune the execution environment for currently executing workloads. A monitoring or instrumentation system may collect operational and performance data from hardware and software components within the system. A modeling system may create an operational model of the execution environment, then may determine different sets of parameters for the execution environment. A feedback loop may change various operational characteristics of the execution environment. The monitoring, analysis, and feedback loop may optimize the performance of a computer system for various metrics, including throughput, performance, energy conservation, or other metrics based on the applications that are currently executing. The performance model of the execution environment may be persisted and applied to new applications to optimize the performance of applications that have not been executed on the system.

    • A subscriber station can efficiently determine an accessible base station by scanning a subset of base stations based on an optimized list received from a serving base station. The subscriber station includes a white list that contains information regarding a number of closed subscriber group (CSG) base stations to which the subscriber station is subscribed. The subscriber station can transmit a request message that includes one or more of: indication of whether the detected identifier of the femto base station is in the whitelist or not; and its location information. In response, the base station can send a message that includes the nearby femtocells and whether the femtocell is accessible or inaccessible to the subscriber station. The femto base station can be designed to be in transmission off mode when none of its subscribers is in its coverage. The serving base station can select a set of the accessible femtocells to the subscriber station, and request the selected femtocells to monitor an uplink signaling of the subscriber station so that the femtocell can be awaken when the femtocell is in transmission off mode or be aware that the subscriber station is in proximity, if the uplink signaling is detected.

    • A method for semantic service registration and query based on WordNet is disclosed. The method includes the following steps: (1) semantic service registration: a service provider registers a service and uploads the Web Service Description Language (WSDL) document corresponding to the service, and a system parses the WSDL document to form a service description tree, then constructs a WordNet ontology tree according to the input of the service, performs a semantic annotation on the input/output of the service to form a Web Service Semantic Description Document (WSDL-S), and finally stores it in a register library; (2) semantic service discovery: a service requester inputs the information of service type, semantic information of the service input/output and other user-defined information to the register library to retrieve the services meeting the requirements; and (3) similarity sorting: the services meeting a certain threshold are sorted in descending order. The method has the advantages of the combination of WordNet ontology library and the semantic description language of WSDL-S, and definite semantic meaning.
