    • A method of making a frangible, non-toxic projectile is described in which substantially pure bismuth metal is melted, a quantity of the bismuth metal is poured into a mold, the bismuth metal is cooled to form a substantially bismuth metal core, the core is swaged in a profile die having a bleed hole of about 0.020 inch to about 0.038 inch in diameter, and the core is electroplated. The swaging may eliminate substantially a surface irregularity. The projectile may be releasably disposed in a cartridge along with a propellant and a primer, in which the primer ignites the propellant upon contact with a firing pin. The cartridge may itself be releasably disposed within a barrel of a firearm.

    • A method and system for determining the authenticity of an item such as an original work of art, an art print, valuable jewelry or other valuable items utilizes images of one or more unique patterns of features, preferably at a microscopic level, as one or more "signatures" of the item. The image of this unique signature is recorded and stored electronically as data representing the unique pattern. The data are registered with identifying text and stored in a secure storage location, to prevent unauthorized duplication or use of the stored data. Following this registration and storage, an item presented as authentic can be examined microscopically at prescribed sites on the item where the original images were taken. Comparison is made at one or more of the sites, and a decision is made as to whether the item exhibits substantially identical features to those originally registered, so as to be the same authentic item. Comparison can be made electronically or visually/microscopically. The storage location can be a central location-remote from local verification stations, with data transferred to and from local stations by telephone lines or other communication links.

    • Provided are methods for handling reports on lost connections in a terminal device which is capable of being in communication connection with a plurality of network access nodes, wherein the terminal device generates, after having lost connection to a (first) network access node, a report on the loss of connection and, upon or after reconnecting of the terminal device with the same or a different network access node, sends the report on the loss of connection to the network access node. Further provided are a terminal device comprising a receiver and a transmitter and being adapted to connect to an access node of a network, particularly of a wireless, e.g. a cellular radio network, said terminal device further comprising a report generator for generating a report on a loss of connection, wherein said transmitter is adapted to send said report to an access node upon or after reconnecting, and a network access node, particularly a network access node of a wireless, e.g. a cellular radio network, comprising a receiver and a transmitter and being adapted to be connected by a terminal device, wherein the receiver is adapted to receive reports on a loss of connection from a terminal device, and wherein the transmitter is adapted to forward or send a received report to a central server or to a different access node, particularly to an access node to which the terminal was connected before a loss of connection.
