摘要： The present invention provides a lighting head assembly that incorporates a high intensity LED package into an integral assembly including a heat sink and circuit board for further incorporation into other useful lighting devices. The present invention primarily includes a heat sink member that also serves as a mounting die and a reflector cup into which the LED package is mounted. The circuit board is placed behind the reflector cup and includes riser members that extend through holes in the rear wall of the reflector cup to facilitate electrical connections to the leads of the LED. This particular means for assembly allows the reflector cup and circuit board to cooperate to retain the LED package, provide electrical and control connections, provide integral heat sink capacity and includes an integrated reflector cup. In this manner, high intensity LED packages can be incorporated into lighting assemblies through the use of the present invention by simply installing the present invention into a housing and providing power connections thereto.

The flashlight is fashioned to have an outer housing that includes both an integrated means for interfacing the flashlight with a firearm and a surface thereon that serves as a handgrip. The outer housing of the flashlight is configured to be engaged by a clamping assembly that facilitates integration of the flashlight with standard firearm accessory rail assemblies. The flashlight head includes a high-output white LED positioned centrally within an optical element such as a reflector. Should the flashlight be a colored light, four other positions are provided around the periphery of the lens that contain colored LEDs. The flashlight provides the user the ability to selectively and individually control the mode of operation for all of the LEDs contained therein.

摘要： A modular flashlight assembly is provided that includes an integrated interface to facilitate mounting of the flashlight to a variety of different equipment. The flashlight mounting system includes a pattern of engagement surfaces on an exterior surface of the flashlight housing and a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is configured to be mounted onto the desired substrate and includes clamping members that releasably engage the engagement surfaces on the flashlight housing. In this manner, the engagement surfaces on the flashlight housing provide a surface by which the flashlight can be clamped without the need for a band that extends entirely around the barrel of the flashlight. Further, by releasably clamping the flashlight into a modular system, the flashlight can easily mounted onto any variety of different modular interface systems such as the interface rail that is integrated onto modern type firearms.

In particular, the head assembly utilizes a receiver sleeve that includes a non reflective coating to provide a high level of contrast between the lighting element and the interior region surrounding the lighting element. Further, an optical element is coupled to the receiver to capture an image of the lighting element to provide a sharp, uniformly illuminated image in the far field of the device.
