摘要： A device is disclosed for reducing a vertebral compression fracture, comprising a superior end plate and an inferior end plate disposed along a vertical axis. The superior end plate and the inferior end plate are slidably separable in a vertical direction along the vertical axis. An interior chamber is provided in fluid communication with a port extending from an exterior to the interior chamber. The device is deployable within a vertebral body and expandable within the vertebral body by injecting a flowable material into the interior chamber thereby displacing the superior and inferior end plates along the vertical axis.

摘要： An apparatus and method for detecting functional cellular activity within a volume of a tissue. The method includes inserting a three-dimensional array of optical emitters and optical detectors into a volume of a tissue, where the tissue volume includes one or more cells labeled with an optical reporter of cellular activity; illuminating the one or more cells with photons from the optical emitters of the three-dimensional array to generate optical signals from the optical reporter that labels the one or more cells; and detecting the optical signals using the optical detectors of the three-dimensional array, where the illumination includes one-photon excitation of the optical reporter.

摘要： A secure, single-pivot hanger for picture frames or like objects. The invention includes a top-center alignment slot so it can quickly and accurately be placed directly over the object's, previously measured and marked, top midpoint. Adhesive on the hanger's back is used to hold the hanger in position on the object before being nailed in place. Two pre-located holes assure that fastener nails will be self-stabilized in an upright starting position and guided in a straight line as they are driven into the back of the object. Once attached, the hanger's catch lip and relief space will allow it to securely rest on a screw, anchor nail, or the like between the back of the hanging object and the vertical surface it is being suspended from. The hanger can easily and safely rotate around its single pivot point to adjust for final leveling.

It has mirrors that can fold out to increase the area over which sunlight is collected. There is a protective bonnet that can cover the solar collectors during inclement weather. The invention has a semi-cylindrical main body that rests on a stand, supported by an axle on which it can pivot to track the sun. The stepped solar collectors are on the upper half of the main body and are covered by the mirrors when they fold in. A first embodiment has a battery that stores electricity generated by sunlight and an inverter for converting direct current from the battery to alternating current. A second embodiment has parabolic collectors that heat water to create high pressure steam that is used to generate electricity.
