摘要： An apparatus and a method for transmitting and receiving a spike event in a neuromorphic chip. A transmission apparatus of the neuromorphic chip outputs addresses sequentially and repeatedly to an address bus, and when a spike generated by a neuron is detected by the transmission apparatus, outputs a strobe at a first time when one of the addresses being output sequentially and repeatedly becomes identical to an address of the neuron that generated the spike. A receiving apparatus of the neuromorphic chip inputs an address through the address bus at a strobe detection time when the strobe is detected by the receiving apparatus.

摘要： A method and an apparatus for transmitting a single-band orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based ultra wideband (UWB) signal over a pipeline carrying a cable television broadcasting signal. The method includes transforming a multimedia signal transmitted from a multimedia device into a wireline UWB signal; transforming the wireline UWB signal into a single-band OFDM signal; and frequency-spreading the single-band OFDM signal according to a transmission rate. Thus, the apparatus can be robust to multi-path interference and extend transmission distance so as to increase transmission efficiency.

摘要： A cold-start wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) optical transmission system uses a synchronized etalon filter, DFB lasers and passive optical demultiplexers. The DFB lasers are tested under normal operating conditions and wavelength-selected for each channel. The wavelength selection is such that the laser operates within one half of the channel spacing from the standardized wavelength. For the cold-start operation, each laser is able to automatically find its operating wavelength without any prior knowledge of its operating conditions for the standardized wavelength. In addition, this system simultaneously adjusts the output power of each laser to a desired value. Also provided is a method for generating standardized frequencies for a wavelength-division-multiplexed optical transmission system, including the step of adjusting the incident angle of an etalon filter by employing two frequency-locked lasers to compensate for differences of the thickness and refractive index of the etalon filter, and the step of fixing the position of the etalon filter to permanently have the adjusted incident angle, the etalon filter having resonant frequencies respectively corresponding to standardized frequencies.

The wavelength selectable optical source includes at least one optical source having a multimode oscillation spectrum, a demultiplexer and an optical switch for extracting light having a certain selected wavelength. A certain wavelength can be selected among the multimode wavelengths using the demultiplexer and the optical switch, and thus the wavelength can discontinuously be tuned at high speed. Also, by making the light having the selected wavelength incident to the multimode optical source, the power of the output light can uniformly be maintained and maximized through injection locking.
