摘要： A control system for an electrosurgical instrument includes a housing selectively positionable relative to an operating theater with the housing being coupled to an electrosurgical energy source. The system also includes at least one foot-activatable pedal operatively engaged with the housing which has indicia identifying the function of the pedal disposed thereon. Illuminating means are also included with the system which illuminating means are designed to illuminate at least a portion of the pedal which, in turn illuminates the indicia.

摘要： The present disclosure provides an electrosurgical return pad current detection system for use in monopolar surgery as well as a method of using the same. The detection system includes at least one conductive pad which includes a plurality of conductive elements. The detection system further includes at least one sensor configured to measure the current levels returning to each conductive element, the current levels being input into a computer algorithm. A variable impedance controller is configured to adjust the variable impedance levels based upon output generated by the computer algorithm.

摘要： The present disclosure provides an electrosurgical return pad current detection system for use in monopolar surgery as well as a method of using the same. The detection system comprises a plurality of conductive pads which include a plurality of conductive elements. The detection system further includes a sensor which senses the current returning to each conductive pad as well as a comparator which determines the difference in current among a plurality of conductive pads. If the current differential is above or below a prescribed limit, the system will alert the user of potential hazards and/or alter the amount of energy delivered to a surgical device.

The connector includes a conductive surface which is selectively engageable with a corresponding conductive surface disposed on the return pad and is in electrical contact with a second end of the conductive wire, the conductive surface of the connector including a conductive adhesive disposed thereon; and a non-conductive adhesive disposed about the periphery of the conductive surface of the connector for engagement with a corresponding non-conductive adhesive disposed about the periphery of the conductive surface of the return pad.

摘要： An electrosurgical bipolar forceps for sealing and dividing tissue is disclosed. The forceps includes one or more shaft members having an end effector assembly disposed at a distal end thereof. The end effector assembly includes two jaw members movable from a first position to a second position wherein the jaw members cooperate to grasp tissue therebetween. Each of the jaw members includes an electrically conductive surface adapted to connect to a first energy source which communicates electrosurgical energy through tissue held therebetween. The forceps also include an energy-based cutting element adapted to connect to a second energy source and disposed between the jaw members. The energy-based cutting element is moveable from a first configuration when said jaw members are in the first position to a second configuration wherein the energy-based cutting element is disposed at an angle between the jaw members.

摘要： A catheter apparatus is provided that includes a tubular body having a distal end. The body defines first and second lumens. The first lumen has a first adapter that includes a first valve biased to seal the proximal end. The first lumen defines a first lateral port and the second lumen defines a second lateral port. A push rod is connected to the first valve for corresponding movement therewith and extends to a tip. The tip includes a first member extending into the first lumen and a second member extending into the second lumen such that the first member seals the first lateral port and the second member seals the second lateral port in a closed position of the tip. The first valve is engageable such that fluid communication is established between the proximal end of the first lumen and the first lumen, and the first and second members move to an open position whereby fluid communication is established. The first and second lumens may be coaxial whereby the first lumen has a first port that seals a second port of the second lumen.
