摘要： In a colour television receiver wherein three electron beams respectively modulated by red, green and blue video signals are simultaneously deflected to display on a fluorescent screen a composite picture image of three colour picture images, there is provided a time axis converter for compressing, expanding or delaying with respect to time the image signal adapted to modulate at least one electron beam in one horizontal scanning period for different intervals so as to accurately superposing each other the multi-colour picture images over the entire surface of the fluorescent screen thus forming a multi-colour composite picture image free from any misalignment.

摘要： Apparatus for providing auxiliary reference signals useful in setting up the cutoff points of each of a plurality of electron guns in a color kinescope or picture tube. The reference signals are substituted in place of luminance signals by means of a service switch having at least ''''normal'''' and ''''service'''' positions. In the service or set-up mode of operation, with the reference signals applied and vertical scan collapsed, the screen grid to cathode voltage of each of the guns is adjusted to produce a dim white line on the kinescope. The polarity and amplitude of the reference signals is selected so that, upon return of the service switch to normal position and reconnection of the luminance signal channel, the conduction of each of the electron guns is decreased. As a result, the cutoff points of the guns correspond closely to luminance signal black level.

摘要： A switching circuit for alternatively conditioning a color television receiver to display images on the screen of its picture tube or to permit accurate adjustment of biases controlling the white balance of the image displayed by the picture tube. The circuit comprises a double-pole single-throw switch so interconnected with sources of operating voltages for the vertical deflection output tube, the video output tube, and the picture tube, that, when the switch is thrown to its ''''service'''' position, i.e. is opened, the receiver is conditioned simultaneously in three ways: (1) plate voltage is removed from the vertical deflection output tube of the receiver, thereby cutting off that tube and preventing vertical deflection of the cathode-ray beams on the picture tube; (2) a bias voltage sufficient to cut off the video output tube is applied to a grid thereof, thereby blocking transmission of the video signal to the picture tube; and (3) a reference black level bias voltage is applied to each of the three kinescope cathodes. When the receiver is so conditioned, the white balance of the image displayed by the picture tube can be accurately set by adjusting the biases supplied to the screen grids of the picture tube. When the double-pole single-throw switch is thrown to its ''''operate'''' position, i.e. is closed, normal operating voltages are restored to the receiver, thereby enabling it to reproduce color television pictures.
