    • A contact arrangement includes an elongated striker reciprocable in direction of its elongation and a pair of movable contacts moved by the striker and cooperating with adjacent stationary contacts so that during reciprocation of the striker between two end positions one of said movable contacts engages the stationary contact adjacent thereto while the other movable contact is spaced from the adjacent stationary contact, and vice versa.In order to obtain during the reciprocation of the striker up to the moment of switching the contacts a high contact pressure, the striker is provided with a guide extending transverse to its reciprocation direction for a movable guide body. The movable guide body is mounted on one end of a link member the other end of which is articulately engaged with an angle lever in the region of the knee of the latter. A tension spring is connected at one end to the movable guide body and at the other end to one arm of the angle lever, the other arm of which is pivotally mounted on said support. A stationary guide body is coordinated with the movable guide body and the arrangement is made in such a manner that during the switching movement the movable guide body first moves in one direction along one face of the stationary guide body and then in the opposite direction along an opposite face of the stationary guide body.

    • An acceleration actuated switch is disclosed which is capable of distinguishing between random and brief acceleration forces on the one hand and sustained acceleration forces on the other hand. The device comprises a stationary electrical contact and a movable contact held in position by biasing means. Sustained acceleration forces in a particular direction will drive the movable contact along a fixed path to a position whereat the biasing means may bring the movable contact into proximity with the stationary contact thereby closing the switch. If the acceleration force is not in the proper direction or is not applied to the switch for a sufficient length of time, the biasing means will return the movable contact to its original position thereby maintaining the switch in an open condition.

    • A machine with a central strut, which strut has a center portion first and second end portion, two pairs of flexible bows, each pair comprised of two bows under flexed stress and having first and second ends.     • A multipurpose electric trigger switch adapted to be mounted in the handle of a portable electric tool for controlling the A.C. power circuit and, to afford a higher rating, the switch is provided with double-pole butt contacts. The contacts of the switch have a controllable amount of wipe, very low bounce, are non-teasible, have steady contact pressure at the point of tripping open, and have a considerable amount of trigger lever movement between trip "on" and trip "off" positions. The amount of wipe is controlled by the amount of flexure of flexible contract terminals. The low bounce and non-teasibility are controlled by the angular rocking of a spring-biased self-centering rockable plunger and the snapping action of an actuator having camming surfaces in engagement with the plunger and rocking surface in engagement with the flexible contact terminals. Steady contact pressure at the point of tripping open is achieved due to an inclined camming surface of the actuator rising to an apex point. The amount of trigger lever movement between trip "on" and trip "off" positions is controlled by the angular degree of rocking of the plunger and the lateral distance across inclined camming surfaces of the actuator.

    • An electrical switch comprises at least one fixed contact which is engageable by a movable contact contained on a first arm portion of a movable contact member which also has a second arm portion which is disposed at an angle to the first arm portion. In the closed position of the contact the first spring means may in one embodiment be increased in biasing force and in another embodiment be maintained at the same biasing force as its initial position. A second spring means acts in a direction to return the actuating member to a non-actuated position.

This contact carrier block is biased up by a pair of resilient cantilever terminals continuously in electrical contact with the U-shaped movable contacts that slide thereon so that the relative bias between the plunger springs and the resilient cantilever terminals determines the amount of wipe in a vertical plane between forward ends of the U-shaped movable contacts and respective vertically-arranged stationary contacts.

    • A normally open, momentary, double make, push button contact switch includes a push button which is biased outward by a spring. Upon depression of the push button, a cam surface on the push button engages and separates a pair of flexible legs which hold a contact disc in a fixed non-circuit position. After the legs are separated, a spring drives the contact disc downward to engage a pair of spaced, flexible contact blades. Momentary electrical connection of the blades is provided by the passing disc. Upon release of the push button, a collar associated with the push button separates the contact blades so that the assembly may reassume its original, unactivated position without again making an electrical circuit.
