摘要： A vibrating conveyor has a working mass drivable in vibrations, a counter mass which is also driven via the working mass in vibrations which are transferred to a support or a mounting base, and a device for dampening or reducing this transmission which includes a plurality of roller bearing elements provided between the vibrating conveyor and a mounting base and each formed as a unit including two bearing shells with running tracks and at least one roller part between the running tracks, wherein the running tracks before and after the roller part is inclined in opposite direction in form of a predetermined curve, and when the counter mass is driven in rotation the counter mass and the mounting base are pressed from one another by the roller bearing element which results in damping relative to the mounting base.

摘要： A method for processing various organic materials such as lignocellulosics or biomass into more useful states, such as charcoal, carbon black, and coke, and other processed products while producing useful off-gases, includes feeding aggregate pieces of the material to a vertically extending heating chamber and, preferably, closing the chamber to air to control oxygen therein. The pieces are conveyed upwardly through the chamber in a predetermined time by spiral vibratory conveyor. The chamber is heated to a preselected temperature sufficient for gaseous conversion of volatile hydrocarbon constituents of the material. Resultant off-gases are removed from the chamber for further use such as burning thereof for heating the chamber or condensing volatiles, etc.Apparatus for carrying out the method includes preferably first and second such chambers, there being continuous spiral vibrator tray in each chamber carried by a central, vertical support column. Vibration generators secured to the support column impart vibratory forces to the tray for conveying the material by vibratory action. Heating of the material is carried out in the first chamber preferably by burning off-gases generated therein. After heating, material is transferred to the second chamber, also closed to air, for cooling as pieces are carried by vibration along a spiral conveyor therein. If drying of material is desired to reduce moisture content prior to carbonization, the material may first be conveyed through another chamber, heated with combustion gases from heating of the first chamber, by vibratory action.

摘要： A general purpose part feeder is disclosed based on a modified conventional bowl feeder, the modifications including the lining of the bowl spiral trough with a fiber material which upon induced vibratory motion causes advancement of the parts in a particular direction dependent on the orientation of the material with respect to the trough and also including an intermittent mode of operation. The fiber material is disposed in the trough in segments oriented such that the part velocity varies in different sections of the trough so that the parts are separated in the last trough section proximate the feeder outlet. Parts are fed out of the bowl feeder singly by means of a photodetector-timer relay control which causes the bowl feeder to be operated in intervals so as to advance a part to the exit point whereat the photodetector detects its presence and causes the bowl to be shut off. Upon receiving a signal for a part to be advanced out of the feeder, a timer relay is energized causing the bowl feeder to be activated for an interval long enough for the part at the photocell to be advanced out of the machine, so that the bowl feeder will continue to be activated until the next part is advanced to block the photocell to cause the bowl feeder to again be shut off.
