    • A muffler comprises a housing having an exhaust inlet and an exhaust outlet. A first exhaust chamber is disposed concentrically within the housing and is connected with the exhaust inlet. The first exhaust chamber includes a plurality of openings through a first exhaust chamber wall for distributing exhaust gas radially outwardly therethrough. A second exhaust chamber is disposed concentrically around the first exhaust chamber and receives exhaust gas passed to it from the first exhaust chamber. The second exhaust chamber is defined along an outside diameter by a second exhaust chamber wall that comprises a plurality of openings therethrough for passing exhaust gas radially outwardly therefrom. The second exhaust chamber is in communication with the muffler outlet. A third exhaust chamber that is disposed concentrically around the second exhaust chamber for receiving exhaust gas from the second exhaust chamber. The third exhaust chamber is defined along an outside diameter by the muffler housing. A sound attenuating medium is disposed within the third exhaust chamber. The muffler includes means for preventing air and water from entering the muffler outlet.

    • A boat drive including combustion engine located within the hull and a drive unit located outside the hull. The drive has a propeller shaft and an exhaust system with an exhaust duct and an outlet. The exhaust duct connects the engine to the exhaust outlet for carrying away exhaust gases from the engine and cooling water introduced into the exhaust duct. The exhaust outlet is arranged in the propeller shaft. A first exhaust release opening is arranged in the exhaust duct, between the engine and the exhaust outlet, so that during operation, a first fraction of the exhaust gases and cooling water is discharged through the first exhaust release opening, while a second fraction of the exhaust gases and the cooling water is discharged through the exhaust outlet. A device is provided for adjusting the first fraction that can be discharged through the first exhaust release opening.

    • A generator set (genset) for use in a marine environment is disclosed. The genset includes an alternator, an engine dedicated to driving the alternator, and an exhaust port connected to the engine to receive exhaust generated during operation of the engine to drive the alternator. An inner tubular structure is provided that is configured to receive exhaust gases from the exhaust port and communicate the exhaust gases therethrough. The exhaust processing device also includes an exhaust processing element mounted within the inner tubular structure to process the exhaust gases and an outer tubular structure mounted around the inner tubular structure to form an intermediate space therebetween. The exhaust processing device further includes at least one orifice through which to deliver a flow of water to the intermediate space to maintain the outer tubular structure at a temperature below a temperature of the exhaust processing element.

    • The present invention is a device which redirects motor exhaust fumes a distance away from a boat. This device can be applied to a boat's propulsion motor or to its generator for purposes of preventing carbon monoxide poisoning of a boat's passengers. The device includes an adaptor for attaching to a boat motor exhaust port and an elongate extension hose attached to the adaptor. The extension hose is made buoyant through use of a plurality of flotation collars disposed along the length of the hose. An extension rod is inserted into the collars to keep the hose rigid and the distal exhaust end of the hose directed away from a boat to which the device is attached.
