摘要： A tool for fixing a protective textile sleeve about an elongate member contained therein and method of use thereof is provided. The tool includes a clamp assembly having opposed clamp members attached to one another for pivotal movement relative to one another between an open state and a closed state. The clamp members have clamping surfaces, wherein at least one of the clamping surfaces has at least one outlet. A fluid source is arranged in fluid communication with the at least one outlet, and a heat source is configured to heat fluid from the fluid source to create steam. The steam is dispensed outwardly from the at least one outlet to cause an adhesive on the sleeve to become activated to bond with an adjacent abutting surface.

摘要： A catheter has a deflection beam with rectangular cross-section and a single continuous puller wire for predictable on-plane bi-directional deflection. The puller wire extends through spacers on opposite sides of the beam so the puller wire is maintained a predetermined separation distance from the beam surface. Tubular structures of the catheter body and the deflectable section are fused at a joint by C-shaped brackets mounted opposite surface of the beam to form a hollow body with holes into which thermoplastic materials covering the catheter body and the deflectable section can melt to form interlocking nodes. Elongated beam stiffeners can be mounted on the beam to provide different curve and deflection geometries.

摘要： A lateral pipe-lining method for lining a lateral pipe that intersects a main pipe. A lateral pipe-lining material has a tubular resin-absorbing material impregnated with a curable resin and has a flange formed at one end thereof. The flange is disposed on an expandable flange-pressing implement. The expandable flange-pressing implement is expanded using a heat medium that is supplied by a first fluid source and that heats the flange of the lateral pipe-lining material to bring the flange into contact with a periphery of a lateral pipe opening of the main pipe. The lateral pipe-lining material is inserted into the lateral pipe using a fluid from a second fluid source different from the first fluid source, and the curable resin impregnated in the tubular resin-absorbing material is cured to line the lateral pipe.

Alternately, heat a metal cylindrical casing, press glass or ceramic into the cylinder while the metal cylinder is at an elevated temperature, seal the metal cylindrical casing while metal cylindrical casinger is at an elevated temperature, and allow the the metal cylinder to cool, such that when cooled, the cylindrical casing will compress the glass in all directions.
