摘要： A pen cap for a medication delivery pen includes a piston-style detector mechanism. The piston-style detector mechanism includes at least an inner shell having first open end through which the medication delivery pen can be inserted, a second end opposite the first end, a sidewall defined by an outer surface and an opposing inner surface, and a passageway extending from the outer surface to the inner surface. The sidewall extends between the first end and the second end thereby defining a pen-receiving cavity there between. The piston-style detector mechanism further includes at least one switch and a translatable shaft at least partially disposed in the passage. The translatable shaft includes a body that extends at least from a pen-interfacing portion in the pen-receiving cavity to a switch-interfacing portion thereof. The translatable shaft is oriented to travel from a first location to at least a second location during capping of a medical delivery pen into the inner shell to toggle the at least one switch.

摘要： The invention provides methods and apparatus for injecting a medicine, especially a highly viscous medicine. Conventional methods and apparatus for injecting viscous medicines suffer from a variety of problems such as excessive force during the initial needle insertion and initial injection. In an inventive method, during the initial phase of the injection, energy is stored in a torsion spring that is subsequently released during a later stage of the injection. The present invention also provides for an improved autoinjector; especially via the use of a combination compression and torsion spring that powers the injection through controlling force applied to plunger via a screw flange or nut having pins that ride in a prescribed path down the length of the autoinjector.

摘要： The present disclosure provides an inner tubular body for a medicament delivery device. The inner tubular body extends along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end. The inner tubular body includes a distal part and a proximal part. The distal part includes a flexible arm extending distally, the flexible arm comprises a first spring support at the distal end of the flexible arm and a plunger rod support at the distal end of the flexible arm. The first spring support is inclined in a radially inward direction and is configured to support a distal end of a drive spring of the medicament delivery device when the medicament delivery device is in a non-activated state. The distal part further includes a second spring support extending distally and being configured to support the distal end of the drive spring of the medicament delivery device when the medicament delivery device is in an activated state. The plunger rod support is configured to engage with a plunger rod of the medicament delivery device in order to inhibit a proximal movement of the plunger rod when the medicament delivery device is in the non-activated state. The first spring support is configured to interact with an activation button that is at a distal end of the medicament delivery device. Triggering of the activation button allows a radial outward deflection of the flexible arm thereby disengaging the plunger rod support from the plunger rod and disengaging the first spring support from the distal end of the drive spring.

摘要： A medical syringe reduces medication waste that dispensing medication remaining within the syringe's Luer tip. The syringe plunger incorporates a ramrod with a jag on its distal end that is inserted through the Luer tip's lumen when the plunger is fully advanced into the syringe barrel. A center through bore of a syringe stopper is slidably coupled to the ramrod in fluid-sealed abutting contact. The center bore is initially oriented on the ramrod over the jag. Medication is aspirated into the syringe while the stopper is in its initial, axial position. The last, dose of medication is dispensed by advancing with the plunger with sufficient pressure to abut the stopper into contact with and translate the ramrod jag through the lumen of the Luer tip, thereby dispensing medication that was retained within the lumen.

摘要： A drug delivery device includes a housing defining a shell having a proximal and a distal end, a needle assembly at least partially disposed within the housing at the proximal end, a drive assembly at least partially disposed within the housing, and a damper mechanism at least partially disposed within the housing adjacent to the distal end. The housing further defines a longitudinal axis extending between the proximal end and the distal end. The needle assembly includes a syringe barrel containing a medicament and a needle or a cannula. The drive assembly is operably coupled to the needle assembly to urge the medicament through the needle or cannula. The damper mechanism is operably coupled to the drive assembly and the housing. Upon activating the drive assembly, the damper mechanism dampens an effect thereof.
