    • A cord rewinder device stores and dispenses flexible cord and includes a base, a reel, a spring element and a brake mechanism. The reel is rotatably mounted to the base and is operative to rotate an axis of rotation in a first direction and second direction opposite the first direction. In the first direction, the flexible cord is wound about the reel for storage within the cord rewinder device. In the second direction, the flexible cord is dispensed from the cord rewinder device. The spring element is connected to and between the base and the reel and is operative to apply a winding force to the reel. The brake mechanism is mounted to the base and is operative to move to and between a reel engaged position and a reel disengaged position. In the reel engaged position, the brake mechanism contacts the reel preventing the rotation of the reel in the first direction while permitting rotation of the reel in the second direction. In the reel disengaged position, the brake mechanism is disengaged from contact with the reel to permit the reel to automatically rotate in the first direction as a result of the winding force. The cord rewinder device is especially useful when used in a horizontal orientation with a shop-type vacuum cleaner for rewinding the electrical cord for the vacuum cleaner.

    • An alternatively positioned and wound wire winding box comprises a housing, a first communication cable, a first conductive disk, a first communication cable, a spiral spring, a second communication cable, and a second conductive disk. A swing piece and a ratchet which are adjacent to and overlapped with one another are installed at one side of the one housing. A plurality of grooves are installed around the periphery of the first conductive disk. Each of two sides of the pivotal position of the swinging piece is extended with an integrally formed elastic piece which may resist against the wall of the housing. Another end of the swinging piece with respect to the pivotal position is formed with a tongue which may obliquely resist against the periphery of the disk and at proper condition it can enter into the groove. A plurality of ratchet teeth are installed at the ratchet. Every other ratchet tooth, the side of the tooth adjacent to the swing piece being installed with a buckling block. At two sides of the bottom of the swing piece adjacent to the ratchet, each side is installed with a catch. As the swing piece swings, the ratchet teeth are pushed to engage with the gap between two teeth. One of the catches is installed with an engaging block at the lateral side thereof for engaging a respective buckling block. Thus, positioning and rewinding actions of the alternatively positioned and wound wire winding box by regularly pulling and releasing the communication cable will make the user clearly understand the relation of the positioning the rewinding of the cable, and thus may control the wire winding box easily and conveniently.

    • A cable reel is disclosed which permits rapid and simple pay out and deployment of cable, retention of cable in operating position, and rapid and controlled retraction of the cable, without overrunning or overwinding of the reel. The reel utilizes a highly functional slip ring capsule which provides positive and continual communications contact and transmission, regardless of adverse weather conditions, handling or operating stresses, or other conditions which would otherwise affect transmissions in prior art devices. It also reduces damage to cables; premature loss of cables through workers' carelessness or deliberate discard of loose cables; operational delays caused by missing cables, or by workers being required to hunt for individual lengths of cable; and delays or malfunctions resulting from having cables of the wrong size, length, weather resistance, etc. A slip-on member prevents damage to the cable tip when the cable is dropped, and a retractable cover prevents damage to the cable tip.

    • A new and improved apparatus for connecting electrical extension cords and trailer electrical connectors to a fixed point on a vehicle. The apparatus consists of a bracket which is secured onto a vehicle bumper through tabs aligned over vehicle license plate attachment holes. A vehicle electrical connector lead wire is routed through a notch in the bracket wherein it resides in a wire channel molded to the rear bracket. The notch on a vehicle electrical connector or a vehicle electrical trailer connector allows permanent fixation of either within an electrical connector housing molded to the front of the bracket. A connector cover is attached to the device housing to help prevent accidental shock and to protect the electrical connector from exposure and damage when the vehicle electrical attachment is not in use. The cover is easily moved during use through a compression spring and remains attached to the device housing preventing loss or damage. The preferred method of utilizing the apparatus allows the user to single-handedly connect or disconnect an external electrical attachment to the permanently fixated electrical attachment point upon the vehicle.
