    • There is a fluid rotary machine having radial pistons and a shaft with an eccentric cam having a rotational movement relative to the housing. The cam mounts a ring on the exterior thereof and the pistons abut against the exterior surface of the ring with each piston mounted for sliding movement in the interior of the cylinder. The ring is associated with the distribution of the fluid of the machine to the pistons and cylinders. Means are provided to immobilize the ring against rotation relative to the housing and subjugate the ring to an essentially circular translation movement relative to the rotational movement of the eccentric cam on which the ring is mounted, and is characterized by the fact that the means for maintaining the ring in such a position comprises a plurality of elastic members connecting predetermined points of the ring to anchor points unassociated with the ring. These elastic members are sufficiently strong to oppose the tendency of the ring to rotate with the cam, but on the other hand, have sufficient elasticity to be adaptable to different eccentricities of the cam when the actual displacement of the machine is being changed.

    • The device is comprised of an auxiliary annular element concentrically mounted on each piston end facing the spherical surface of the rotor. Each piston end is provided with an annular shoulder bearing against a matching annular shoulder formed on the inner periphery of the circular aperture through which the auxiliary annular element is mounted on the piston end. The same auxiliary annular element is also provided with oppositely disposed lateral flanges, in a position corresponding to the sides of the rotor, each having a respective recess which is open in the axial direction opposite to the corresponding side of the rotor and extending in the circumferential direction in an arc of a circle concentric with the rotor. Coupling rings disposed at the sides of the rotor, concentrically therewith, engage said recesses to hold the piston end in contact with the spherical surface of the rotor.

    • A radial type of fluid-pressure apparatus, such as a pump or motor, wherein a crankshaft is supported for rotation about its axis and has a crankpin radially spaced from its axis and connected with the inner end region of a piston which extends outwardly away from the crankshaft axis and which has an outer end region extending into a chamber of an outer housing structure which surrounds the crankshaft axis. This chamber communicates with a fluid passage. An inner circular housing structure is surrounded by the outer housing structure and surrounds the crankshaft while being formed with an opening through which the piston extends, this inner housing structure having a seat at its opening which surrounds the piston. The latter seat forms part of a sphere. The piston extends slidably through a sleeve which has an outer surface also forming part of the latter sphere and seated on this seat. A spring engages the sleeve to urge the latter into engagement with the seat for maintaining a fluid-tight contact between the sleeve and the seat while at the same time the sleeve can rock with respect to the seat during transmission of motion between the piston and the crankshaft.

    • An hydraulic motor in which a rotatable assemblage of pistons and cylinders has pistons mounting roller followers which run in contact with an annular cam track. To limit the contact stresses at high torque output, the roller followers are disposed at least in part within the cylinders and have an axial length about equal to their diameter. To limit guide wear two stationary guide rings make sliding contact with the roller end faces. The guide rings locate and restrain the rollers axially and maintain their axes parallel. The rollers are tethered to the pistons to permit free wheeling with the rollers out of contact with the track. The rollers are cushioned on resilient, low friction, part cylindrical plastics surfaces which transmit the drive to the followers during the working stroke of the pistons.
