    • A rotary power hand tool with a rotary chuck is mated to a push-in piston-type dispensing container of caulking via an adapter which mounts on the tool and is secured to the chuck. The adapter has a plunger provided on the end of a non-rotating screw. When the tool trigger is actuated, a transmission on the actuator is operated to advance the screw and plunger thus advancing the piston of the dispensing container. In the preferred embodiment a peg secured to the drive screw and protruding out of the adapter doubles as a way of preventing the drive screw from rotating and as a way to indicate the relative amount of contents remaining to be dispensed until the container is effectively empty.

    • A layered system for a ship deck including two kinds of elements, namely a deck element and an installation plank. According to the system, at least two opposite edges of the deck element are equipped with a protruding lower part, whereby two of such deck elements can be brought next to each other in a manner that both deck elements have a protruding lower part facing a corresponding part of the other deck element. At least two opposite edges of the installation plank are equipped with a protruding upper part which cover substantially the protruding lower parts of the deck elements when the installation plank is placed between the deck elements which have been placed next to each other in a manner that the protruding lower parts are facing each other. The installation plank is equipped with elements to fasten the deck element system to the deck base.

    • The hull of a wooden vessel is laminated and provided with an outer plastic skin which provides a hull of high structural strength, and protects the wood interior against rot and attack by marine organisms. In its preferred aspects, a skin of fabric-like fiberglass is chemically bonded (and preferably chemically and mechanically bonded) to a wooden hull constituted of wooden planking at least three-fourths inch in thickness by use of an elastomeric adhesive which, after curing, is capable of stretching at least twice, and preferably from about 3 to about 5 times its length, and the outer surface of the fabric-like fiberglass is saturated with resin, covered with a chopped fiberglass mat, cured, a fairing compound is applied to the exterior of the skin, and the surface is sanded and painted. The laminated structure is highly resistant to stresses produced by expanding, contracting and bending, particularly prevalent in thick wooden hulls, which tend to produce delamination between the skin and the working hull.
