    • A multi-use die system is provided having a die holder with reference marks disposed circumferentially and radially along the longitudinal axis of the holder, and a multi-use die plate for magnetic affixation to the die holder which impresses a pattern onto a material blank. The die plate has straight and angular reference marks disposed thereon which are adapted to align with the radial and longitudinal reference marks on the die holder so as to properly align the die on the die holder at a predetermined position. In a straight rotary die system, the die is aligned such that the straight reference mark on the die is aligned with the respective corresponding radial and circumferential references on the die holder. In the angular rotary die system, the die is aligned such that the angular mark is aligned with the corresponding radial and circumferential references on the die holder.

    • Slitting device and process for positioning a slitting device to slit a material web into partial webs. The slitting device includes a knife arrangement that is adapted for movement transversely to a web run direction of the material web and that includes a first knife attachment device positioned on one side of the material web and a second knife attachment device positioned on an other side of the material web. The first knife attachment device includes a drive with a positioning unit. The slitting device also includes a circuitless signal transmission path that is located between the first knife attachment device and the second knife attachment device and the second knife attachment device includes a follow-up device. The process includes contactlessly coupling the first and second knife attachment devices, and transversely moving the first knife attachment device across a width of the material web. The contactless coupling includes transmitting information related to the transverse movement of the first knife attachment device to the second knife attachment device, and the process further includes transversely moving the second knife attachment device in accordance with the transmitted information.

Disclosed therefor is a magnetic field system acting laterally to put the second shearing member into constant force engagement with the first shearing member, which may at a side wall of the hub groove, irrespective of the lateral repositioning.

    • A slicing machine for foods includes a circular knife with a peripheral cutting edge mounted rotatingly in a substantially vertical position on a machine housing. The knife defines a substantially vertical cutting plane. A knife protection ring is secured to the machine housing and surrounds a substantial portion of the cutting edge. A carriage for receiving a product to be cut is mounted on the housing on one side of the cutting plane for reciprocating movement in a direction parallel to the cutting plane. A scraper is arranged on an opposite side of the cutting plane to cover part of a face of the circular knife. The scraper is mounted pivotably about a pivot axis defined by a pivot bearing so as to be pivotable from an operating position to a cleaning position. The pivot axis is arranged above the center of the circular knife essentially horizontal and parallel to the cutting plane.
