摘要： An apparatus that aids in the removal of heavy-duty universal joints or Spicer® joints is herein disclosed. The apparatus is comprised of a metal plate approximately four (4) inches long and two-and-a-half (2½) inches wide. Two (2) outer apertures in the metal plate attach to the corresponding retaining bolt holes on an existing universal joint. The inner hole has a driver shaft driven by a three-quarter (¾) inch hex fitting. This driver shaft facilitates the removal of the joint caps of the universal joint. The apparatus is secure and will not slip or reposition itself while in use. When finished, the apparatus is removed from the drive shaft. The use of the apparatus allows for the removal of heavy-duty universal joints in an efficient manner.

摘要： A mounting system is disclosed for mounting a bearing assembly or other mechanical element to a shaft. The mounting system uses a tapered sleeve mechanism to secure the bearing assembly on the shaft. Specifically, a plurality of screws point load the tapered sleeve and drive it from a pre-assembled position to an initial position. Once the initial position has been reached a plurality of fasteners then drive the sleeve from the initial position to a final position. The difference between the initial position and final position determined by the width of a removable spacer used in the mounting system. The system also incorporates a jack screw mechanism used to dismount the bearing assembly from the shaft.

摘要： An apparatus for providing a load on a bearing mounted to a shaft includes an attaching member and a press mechanism. The attaching member is releasably connected to the shaft. The press member is coupled to the attaching member and is configured to provide a compressive load to the bearing. The press mechanism includes an aligning arm configured to engage a shaft slot of the shaft to align the press mechanism relative to the shaft when the attaching member connects to the shaft. A lock nut is engageable with the shaft and has a plurality of engaging teeth configured to engage a plurality of keeper teeth of a keeper. The nut includes an outer surface having a plurality of markings corresponding to a plurality of roots of the plurality of engaging teeth to allow a user to selectively rotate the nut relative to the aligning arm to an engaging position such that a radially inner side of the keeper engages a slot of the shaft when the keeper teeth engage the engaging teeth of the nut.
