    • An analog circuit for calculating square and reciprocal of a current is provided. It is an analog integrated circuit and can make the input and output signals become currents in the current field of the same type of analog integrated circuit. The output current can be the square or reciprocal of the input current. The square and reciprocal functions can be implemented by using three identical BJTs. Those three BJTs are independent and the bases and collectors of the BJTs are coupled to ground. Hence, the circuit can be implemented by the standard CMOS and can be applied to the other complicated system. In addition, the operational amplifier and the capacitor in the circuit are required to stabilize this circuit. This circuit has a simple structure.

    • An amplifier (10″) has a first amplifier stage (14) for producing a control current (IX) in response to an input voltage. A second amplifier stage (16) has first (46) and second (38) transistors. The first transistor (46) is coupled to receive the control current (IX) and is operable to produce a control voltage. The second transistor (38) is coupled to receive the control voltage and operable to produce an output current. A nonlinear resistive element (50) is coupled to the first transistor (46) to add a nonlinear function of the control current (IX) to the control voltage. The nonlinear resistive element (50) may include a third transistor connected between the first transistor (46) and a reference potential, operable to receive the control current (IX) and to generate the nonlinear function thereof.

    • An electronic device is provided such as an amplifier, for example, having improved gain and transconductance and low output impedance. The device includes a primary amplifier configured to carry an operating load. The primary amplifier includes an input for receiving an input signal, and an output for outputting an output signal, and operates having a variable output, as it carries an operational load. The device further includes a secondary amplifier configured to operate at a fixed operating condition, not burdened by carrying an operational load, and includes a secondary input configured to receive the input signal, wherein the secondary amplifier is configured to define the input voltage. The device is configured to detect a difference in operating current between the primary and secondary amplifiers, and to compensate for any operational load that may be applied to the primary amplifier during operation.
