摘要： Filtering is performed on original waveform to remove components of a predetermined frequency band from the waveform, and dividing positions of the original waveform data are determined on the basis of envelope levels of the filtered waveform. The dividing positions may be determined on the basis of differentiation of an envelope of the filtered waveform. Rise positions in the original waveform data are detected, and one rise position may be selected from among one or more rise positions detected within a predetermined range of the original waveform and extracted as a dividing position of the original waveform. Presumed beat positions in the original waveform may be detected, and rise positions of the original waveform may be detected within predetermined ranges corresponding to the presumed beat positions. In parallel with reproduction of automatic performance, waveform data are stored in memory along with synchronization control data indicative of relationship in processing timing between the automatic performance and the waveform data.

摘要： Methods and apparatus are provided for interactively creating new arrangements of prerecorded musical works. The musical work is represented on a digital medium in the form of a database comprising a plurality of fixed musical sequences, and a template comprising a plurality of sequence positions. Each sequence position may represent one track of a musical arrangement, such as the performance of one instrumental group, or a musical solo. The various tracks are intended to be played simultaneously, in parallel. In addition, some of the sequence positions may represent fixed-length, partial segments of a single track that are intended to be played serially. Using a menu-driven, graphical interface, a user interactively selects a plurality of the fixed musical sequences, as desired, and allocates the selected sequences among the various fixed sequence positions specified by the template. The musical sequences are then combined in accordance with the user's selections, thus creating a new arrangement of the musical work. In this way, users of varying levels of sophistication can be given a musically structured framework for interactively constructing new arrangements of recorded musical works.

On each pulse of the rhythm pattern pulses, the tone keyer conducts for a time period determined by a time constant circuit included therein. The tempo control is also connected to the time constant circuit to vary the conducting time lengths of the tone keyers in accordance with the tempo by the tempo control, so that each sounding time length becomes shorter as the tempo becomes faster.

User interface controls are provided for changing the elevation of the two-dimensional display. The two-dimensional display can be updated to show different elevations as the controls are used to select a new elevation. In some embodiments, the two-dimensional display enables users to move objects of a virtual reality environment. The display can bring highlight to select objects enabling users to readily locate desired objects and locations. The features disclosed herein can be utilized by a computer hosting a virtual reality session or a remote computer operating a companion application.
