    • A method of creating a three dimensional (3D ) model which demonstrates two or three images. The method comprises rendering first and second (and optionally third) images, adjust the plurality of primitives along a first axis of the 3D space according to the first image and along a second axis of the 3D space according to the second image (and optionally, and along a third axis of the 3D space according to the third image), and creating a 3D model which demonstrates the first and second (and optionally third) images according to the plurality of adjusted primitives in the 3D space. The first and second (and optionally third) axes are independent view directions.

    • Disclosed herein are methods, apparatus, and computer program programs that use 2D drawings of a cartoon in different views to automatically construct rotated views of the subject cartoon. Embodiments involve a novel structure, the 2.5D cartoon model, which can generate plausible renderings of the cartoon in any view. Two or more input drawings can be leveraged to construct a 2.5D cartoon model that supports full 3D rotation. Unlike a 3D model, however, renderings produced by a 2.5D cartoon model retain the 2D nature and hand-drawn appearance of the input drawings, and support a wide range of 2D stylizations and shapes that would be impossible with a 3D model.

    • There are provided a unified framework based on extensible styles for 3D non-photorealistic rendering and a method of configuring the framework. The unified framework includes: 3D model data processing means for generating a scene graph by converting a 3D model input into 3D data and organizing the scene graph using vertexes, faces, and edges; face painting means for selecting a brusher to paint faces (interiors) of the 3D model using the scene graph; line drawing means for extracting line information from the 3D model using the scene graph and managing the extracted line information; style expressing means for generating a rendering style for the 3D model and storing the rendering style as a stroke, the rendering style being equally applied to a face-painting method and a line-drawing method; and rendering means for combining the stroke and the selected brusher to render the 3D model using both the face-painting method and the line-drawing method. The framework can be used to develop tools and new rendering styles for non-photorealistic rendering and animation.

    • The object is for drawing a contour line of an overlapped part from which a feeling of strangeness is not acquired in a case where a plurality of tuned objects are overlapped with one another in an image generated by a perspective transformation process. A tuned object A (a line width of the contour line is “3”) is overlapped with a tuned object B (a line width of the contour line of “1”) located in a position closer to a virtual screen than the tuned object A. Each pixel included in the tuned object A is set as a target pixel, and a pixel located in a position shifted from the target pixel by the line width is set as a determination pixel. When depth data and line width data of the determination pixel is smaller than those of the target pixel, the line width data of the target pixel is reset to the line width data of the determination pixel, and a pixel located in a position shifted from the target pixel by the reset line width is reset as the determination pixel. When the depth data of the target object is not smaller than that of the determination pixel, contour line data is written into the target pixel.
