摘要： Polling operations performed by a reader may be adjusted by a server. The server determines at least one of volatility measurements or polling operation parameters based on information obtained from components within an automated inventory tracking system. The automated inventory tracking system is part of an inventory management system. The server also obtains volatility measurements from another system within the inventory management system. The server incorporates the volatility measurements obtained from the other system, at least one of the volatility measurements or the polling operation parameters determined by the server, and power usage information associated with the reader into a periodic calculation to determine optimal polling parameters. The server periodically sends the optimal polling parameters to the reader for adjustment to a polling operation performed by the reader within a coverage area.

摘要： A wireless power system includes a wireless power transmit and receive units. The wireless power transmit unit includes a wireless power transmit circuit that generates a wireless power magnetic field and a transmit unit transceiver that transceives a communication regarding the wireless power magnetic field in accordance with a control channel protocol. The wireless power receive unit includes a wireless power receive circuit, a transceiver, and a processing module. The wireless power receive circuit converts the wireless power magnetic field into a voltage. The receive unit processing module is operable to: identify the control channel protocol; determine whether the receive unit transceiver is capable of communication using the control channel protocol; and, when the receive unit transceiver is capable of communication using the control channel protocol, coordinate configuration of the receive unit transceiver to transceive the communication regarding the wireless power magnetic field via the control channel.

摘要： A thermal management system and method to control temperature in an RFID reader is described herein. In particular, by inserting variable periods of inactivity (or latency) at the beginning or at the end of each read cycle, proportional to an instantaneous temperature value of the RFID reader, over-heating and damage of RFID reader electronics is prevented. The RFID reader includes a thermal sensor and determines when the high power RF electronics is enabled. If the RFID reader is in an over-heated condition, it can be turned OFF and during this period any requests received on an interface to the RFID reader to perform a read of tag(s) are not processed.
