    • A projectile launcher including a receiver with a breech proximate to a barrel. A valve assembly is provided that allows selective flow between a source of compressed gas and the breech. A trigger is provided that is movable between a first position and a second position. The launcher includes a firing assembly configured to actuate the valve assembly responsive to the trigger being in the second position. In some embodiments, the firing assembly includes a trigger assist feature configured to cycle the firing assembly in a fully automatic manner when the trigger is in the second position without reciprocating the trigger during the firing cycle. In some embodiments, the receiver includes an opening with a puncture mechanism dimensioned to receive a magazine.

    • An improved paintball marker with electro-pneumatic firing mechanism that employs two separate solenoid valves: a low pressure solenoid valve for bolt actuation and a high pressure solenoid valve for exhaust valve actuation to fire the paintball. The exhaust valve is completely independent of the bolt movement. This eliminates the need for a mechanical ram to strike the exhaust valve. Fewer moving parts and a smaller moving mass reduces recoil and improves reliability and overall operation of the marker. Moreover, the design is more modular and allows for easier disassembly and maintenance.

    • A pneumatic gun firing ram for firing one or more paintballs. The paintball gun includes a body defining a bore, with the bore being in communication with a valve for selectively releasing compressed gas to fire a paintball. A piston is located within the bore, and a rod is mounted within the piston for sliding movement. A hammer is mounted on an end of the rod opposite the piston, the hammer being movable between a first position and a second position relative the piston. A clamp substantially surrounds the rod at a region adjacent the hammer, and a pneumatic valve is adapted to move the pneumatic ram from a first position in the bore at a distance from the poppet valve to a second position in the bore proximate the poppet valve. The clamp is adapted to hold the pneumatic ram in the first position until sufficient pressure has built up to cause the pneumatic ram to overcome the clamp, causing the pneumatic ram to strike the poppet valve, thereby releasing the pressurized gas stream and driving the projectile from the gun.

An electrical switch for the control valve is connected to an electronic control circuit which incorporates a micro-switch operated by the trigger of the gun.
