    • A geared turbofan engine includes a fan rotatable about an engine axis. A compressor section compresses air and delivers the compressed air to a combustor where the compressed air is mixed with fuel and ignited to drive a turbine section that in turn drives the fan and the compressor section. A gear system is driven by the turbine section for driving the fan at a speed different than the turbine section. The gear system includes a carrier attached to a fan shaft. A plurality of planet gears are supported within the carrier. Each of the plurality of planet gears includes a first row of gear teeth and a second row of gear teeth supported within the carrier. A sun gear is driven by a turbine section. The sun gear is in driving engagement with the plurality of planet gears. At least two separate ring gears circumscribe the plurality of planet gears. Each of the at least two ring gears are supported by a respective flexible ring gear mount that enables movement relative to an engine static structure. A fan drive gear system for a gas turbine engine is also disclosed.

    • A centrifugal blower for an air conditioning system in a motor vehicle may include a centrifugal fan with an electric motor, which may drive a fan wheel in rotation. The centrifugal blower may also include a motor bracket for the electric motor, which may receive the centrifugal fan internally and may have a collar extending outward in a radial direction. An encircling water protection ring may be arranged internally on the collar, the water protection ring extending upward in an axial direction. The motor bracket may be configured as a hollow part with an interior annular water collection channel arranged beneath the collar, and may have a floor tilted radially outward. The at least one opening may be disposed at a transition from the collar to the water protection ring, by which water may drain into the water collection channel. The water collection channel may include at least one drain.

    • A gas turbine engine fuel system has an ecology valve for withdrawing residual fuel from primary and secondary fuel manifolds upon engine shut-down. The ecology valve has primary and secondary reservoirs respectively connected in fluid flow communication with the primary and secondary fuel manifolds. The valve further has a reciprocating piston movable from a retracted position when engine start-up is initiated to an extended position which the piston assumes under normal engine running conditions. The movement of the reciprocating piston between the retracted and extended positions controls the flow of fuel from and to the primary and secondary reservoirs. A cross-bleed passage is defined in the reciprocating piston. The cross-bleed passage connects the primary and secondary reservoirs in fluid flow communication only when the piston is in its extended position. In this way, the cross-bleed flow between the primary and secondary fuel manifolds may be initiated only at the end of the engine start-up phase.

    • A combustion staging system for fuel injectors of a multi-stage combustor of a gas turbine engine has pilot and mains fuel manifolds distributing fuel to the injectors. A splitting unit splits a fuel flow and sends portions of the flow to pilot and mains fuel manifolds to perform staging control of the combustor. The splitting unit can deselect the mains manifold so that there is no flow into the combustor from the mains manifold. A cooling flow recirculation line provides a cooling flow of fuel to the mains manifold when that manifold is deselected so that the mains manifold remains primed with relatively cool fuel. A return section collects the cooling flow from the mains manifold. One or more fuel pressure sensors detect pressure of the cooling flow on the recirculation line. A control arrangement closes off the recirculation line when the pressure sensor(s) indicates failure of the cooling flow.
