摘要： A flywheel is attached to a shaft of a turbine. As the shaft rotates, the flywheel swings outwards away from the shaft and regulates the angular velocity of the rotating shaft. In an embodiment, there are multiple flywheels attached to the shaft. In another embodiment there is a first flywheel that controls a second flywheel. In another embodiment, the flywheel has adjustable or centrifugal displacement of counterbalanced masses for effective rotational diameter with effective rotational balance. In another embodiment, a small pilot centrifugal displacement flywheel may control a clutch by rotational velocity and may include a hysteresis control. An example of a clutch may limit that degree to which the arms of the flywheel may be extended and/or retracted. In another embodiment, a small pilot centrifugal displacement flywheel controls the hysteresis of a centrifugal flywheel displacement.

摘要： A nacelle for a wind turbine includes an electrical generator having a stator and a rotor with an air gap between the stator and the rotor. The stator includes an annular support plate. A cooling circuit in the nacelle includes at least a first inlet portion for channeling a fluid cooling medium to the gap between the stator and the rotor. The first inlet portion of the cooling circuit includes at least an inlet hole on the annular support plate for letting at least a portion of the cooling medium flow towards the air gap and an inlet fan for making the fluid cooling medium flow in the inlet portion. The stator includes a circumferentially outer structure attached to the annular support plate and the cooling circuit includes at least a second outlet portion for channeling a heated fluid medium from the air gap between the stator and the rotor.

摘要： An integrated axis wind turbine system is provided. The system includes a support tower on which is mounted a turbine whose nacelle comprises of drive train consisting of a horizontally aligned main shaft and an associated a set of horizontal shafts at different elevations which transfer rotary motion from a set of blades and which culminates in electricity generation. When the set of blades rotate at an angular speed exceeding a predefined threshold, excess torque is transmitted by a right angle transmission, via a Continuously Variable Transmission, to a vertically aligned central shaft which is coupled to a second turbine's set of blades whose rotary motion also culminates in electricity generation. The angle of attack of wind on the secondary set of blades is adjusted by a blade positioning system. By the integrated operation of the two turbines, the operational capacity of the combined system is increased.

摘要： A method is provided for in-situ resurfacing of a main rotor shaft of a wind turbine, wherein in an operational state, the main rotor shaft is coupled at a first end to a rotor hub and at the opposite second end to a gearbox or directly to a generator within a nacelle. The method includes uncoupling the rotor shaft from the gearbox or generator so as to expose an end face of the second end of the rotor shaft. A fixture is attached to the exposed end face concentric with the rotational axis of the rotor shaft. A lathe system in then attached to the fixture. The rotor shaft surface adjacent to the exposed end is machined with the lathe system such that the resurfaced portion of the rotor shaft surface is brought to a round state concentric with the rotational axis of the rotor shaft. The method is conducted within the nacelle with the first end of the rotor shaft remaining coupled to the rotor.

Each gyroscope has a spinning axis, an input axis and an output axis, and a flywheel rotatable about the spinning axis. The system further comprises an actuator for each gyroscope, said actuator being arranged with its related gyroscope in such a way that this actuator can apply a torque about the input axis of the gyroscope. The system also comprises a control unit for receiving the signals representing detected movements of the tower, and for providing the actuator with suitable control signals for said actuator to apply a torque about the related gyroscope input axis, said torque about the input axis producing a torque about the output axis of the same gyroscope that at least partly dampens the detected movements of the tower.
