    • A new technique is disclosed, according to which it is possible to extensively increase the efficiency of the construction of large-size wooden building, to effectively use the loading space when materials for construction are carried from factories and other places because the extent of projection of hardware from the materials where it is used is far less than in the conventional case. Moreover, when the hardware is connected, a force to pull lateral members toward longitudinal members can be induced. According to this technique, the connection hardware comprises a basic hardware 3 to be fixed on a lateral surface of a longitudinal member 1 and a subsidiary hardware 4 to be fixed on an end surface of a lateral member 2, wherein said subsidiary hardware 4 is accommodated in an accommodation space U provided on an end surface of the lateral member 2 and has through-holes 16, through which fastening pieces 17 as passed from a lateral surface of the lateral member 2 are inserted, said subsidiary hardware being connected and fixed by mounting pieces 14b, 15b, 29a, 29b, 31a, 31b, 31c, and 32 on a bottom surface of said accommodation space U, said subsidiary hardware further comprises an upper receiving portion 12 having a longitudinal hole 10a surrounded by a band strip and also a lower tapered portion 9 having an inclined surface 11d on lower part, said inclined surface being gradually inclined up toward the lateral member 2, said basic hardware 3 is connected by means of mounting pieces 14a, 14c, 14d, 14e, 15a, 33, and 40 on a lateral surface of the longitudinal member 1, an upper tapered portion 6 is disposed on upper part of the basic hardware 3, said upper tapered portion being engaged into said longitudinal hole 10a of said upper receiving portion 12 and having an inclined surface 11a gradually inclined up toward said lateral member 2, a lower receiving portion 13 is arranged where said lower tapered portion 9 can be engaged into a longitudinal hole 10b surrounded by a band strip, said longitudinal hole 10a of said upper receiving portion 12 has an inner surface on projecting side of said longitudinal hole 10a being designed as an inclined surface 11c gradually inclined up toward said lateral member 2, and inner surface on projecting side of the longitudinal hole 10b of the lower receiving portion 13 has an inclined surface 11b gradually inclined up toward the longitudinal member 1.

    • A jointing metal fitting for joining wooden members in buildings is formed of a metal fitting main body having a U-shaped cross section, a securing device for securing the metal fitting main body to a first wooden member, and an axial securing device for securing a second wooden member to the metal fitting main body. The metal fitting main body includes a plate-like back section to be secured to the first wooden member, a plate-like holder section to be secured to the second wooden member, and a plate-like side section for linking the side of the back section and the side of the holder section. An axial securing groove is formed in the holder section to have an upper part opened to an upper end of the holder section. The first and second wooden members can be firmly and easily joined by the metal fitting.

    • In a column base joint structure, an anchor bolt and a column installed upright on a groundsel are tightly joined using groundsel-side and column-side hardware pieces. The groundsel-side hardware piece includes groundsel-embedded and upper fitting tenon portions. A fitting hole for the upper fitting tenon portion of the groundsel-side hardware piece is formed in a base of the column. The column-side hardware piece includes a lower projecting portion projecting downward from a top face portion to the inside of the fitting hole, and a column-embedded portion positioned above the top face portion. A pin locking hole in the upper fitting tenon portion of the groundsel-side hardware piece and a pin locking hole in the lower projecting portion of the column-side hardware piece are mutually aligned, a driftpin is hammered into the aligned pin locking holes, and the anchor bolt and the column are thereby tightly joined to each other.
