摘要： A surface-treating agent mainly includes three constituents: a water-soluble polymer; a surface sizing agent which is a copolymer of a styrene type monomer and an anionic monomer and which mainly includes a water-soluble copolymer containing 20 to 80 weight % of the styrene type monomer; and a surface sizing agent which is a copolymer of an olefin type monomer and an anionic monomer and which mainly includes a water-soluble copolymer containing 20 to 80 weight % of the olefin type monomer. The surface-treating agent is coated and dried on a base paper for offset printing.

摘要： A polymer-impregnated paper-based web for use as a medical packaging bacteria barrier fabric is provided. The use of a particular type of polymer emulsion as the saturant provides the effective range of bacteria filtration while at the same time allowing the web to maintain its enhanced strength and delamination resistance that are required when such substrates are employed to wrap surgical trays, surgical instruments, medical appliances and the like prior to sterilization. The invention consists of a paper-containing medical packaging substrate that has been saturated with a polymer having a glass transition temperature of null20null C. or less.

摘要： The present invention is a non-woven fiber mat suitable for reinforcing resilient sheet floor coverings, such as vinyl floor coverings. The non-woven fiber mat is in the form of a sheet of reinforcement fibers which at least includes semi-coiled fibers and can also include coiled fiber, with one or more turns, and even some relatively straight or slightly curved fibers. It is desirable for most, if not all, of the reinforcement fibers to be made from glass. However, it may also be desirable for the reinforcement fibers to include glass fibers and synthetic fibers. It may even be possible for the reinforcement fibers to include only non-glass fibers. At least one polymeric binder is used for bonding together the reinforcement fibers so as to make the fiber mat a suitable substrate for reinforcing resilient sheet floor coverings, such as an interlayer for vinyl floor coverings. By using a non-woven fiber mat containing reinforcement fibers that are not completely straight and capable of interlocking with one another, a resilient sheet floor covering made with such a mat can exhibit improved planar compressibility.

摘要： A new thermoformable nonwoven fibrous mat having properties particularly suited for a facer on insulating gypsum board and the method of making the mat is disclosed. The mat can also be pleated or thermoformed to produce filter elements and preforms for producing a wide range of fiber reinforced composites and laminates. The mat preferably contains a major portion of glass fibers and a minor portion of polyester fibers bound together with up to 35 wt. percent of a cross linked vinyl chloride acrylate copolymer binder having a glass transition temperature as high as about 113 degrees F., preferably about 97 degrees F. The binder also optionally contains about 3-10 wt. percent stearylated melamine.
