摘要： The invention relates to bacterial antibiotic resistance and, in particular, to compositions and methods for overcoming bacterial antibiotic resistance. The invention provides novel null-lactamase inhibitors, which are structurally unrelated to the natural product and semi-synthetic null-lactamase inhibitors presently available, and which do not require a null-lactam pharmacophore. The invention also provides pharmaceutical compositions and methods for inhibiting bacterial growth.

摘要： A process is provided for the preparation of diaryl methylphosphonates through the reaction of triaryl phosphites with methanol in the presence of a catalytic quantity of methyl iodide. The reaction is conducted at a temperature of from about 170.degree. C. to about 250.degree. C. New and useful derivatives are produced by reaction of the diaryl methylphosphonates with polyols or amines.

摘要： The present invention relates to novel O,O-diaryl-1-acyloxy-2,2,2-trichloroethylphosphonates of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, phenyl; X and Y are the same or different and are each selected from hydrogen, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -alkyl, phenyl, a halogen, or X and Y together form a fragment of a benzene ring, m and n=1-2.The compounds possess a fungicidal activity and are incorporated in fungicidal compositions as active components.The fungicides according to the present invention are effective not only for prophylactic use, but for the treatment of already infected plants. The fungicidal compositions are also efficient in various agroclimatic conditions and provide a substantially longer period of fungicidal effect as compared to conventional fungicides.

The compounds are effective pesticides especially in the control of houseflies, American cockroach, milkweed bug and two-spotted mite. Representative compounds are O-ethyl-O-(2-methoxy-4-cyanophenyl) ethyl phosphonothioate and O,O-dimethyl-O-(2-methoxy-4-cyanophenyl) phosphorothioate.
