    • A moving body starting system includes: a moving-body-mounted unit mounted in a moving body moved by an engine; a portable unit carried by a user performing radio communication with the mounted unit; an operation switch provided on a moving body side and outputting an operation signal to the mounted unit upon user's operation; a steering unlocking unit unlocking a steering lock mechanism provided on the moving body side; and a moving body power supply control unit provided on the moving body side to perform control on power supply to an engine control device of the moving body, in which the mounted unit includes: an authentication unit performing an authentication processing by radio communication with the portable unit; and an operation control unit, after the authentication, causing at least one of the unlocking unit and the power supply control unit to perform a predetermined processing base on the input operation signal.

    • To dispense with a key cylinder and permit or stop operation of an engine with ease, an engine starting system of the present invention comprises a power source activation unit, an engine control unit, a propelled-object-side equipment, a steering wheel locking unit, a switch, and a portable equipment. The portable equipment includes a transmitter-receiver, a memory circuit, and a control circuit. The propelled-object-side equipment includes a transmitter-receiver, a memory circuit, and a control circuit. The propelled-object-side equipment transmits an inquiry signal to the portable equipment in response to an actuation signal of the switch, and the portable equipment transmits an answer signal corresponding to the inquiry signal. If the answer signal corresponds to the inquiry signal, the control circuit unlocks the steering wheel locking unit, permits the engine to be started, and performs various operations depending on how many times and how long the switch is actuated.

    • The invention provides a steering column assembly for a vehicle. The steering column assembly includes a steering column structure to support a steering wheel at a first end and be coupled at a second end to steerable wheels of a vehicle. A steering shaft extends through the steering column structure. A steering wheel position sensor is supported by the steering column structure to sense an angular position of the steering shaft and communicate a position signal. A steering wheel torque sensor is supported by the steering column structure to sense a torque associated with rotation of the steering shaft and communicate a torque signal. A motor is spaced from the steering column structure and an electric power steering controller receives the position and torque signals and controls the motor in response to provide a power steering assist to the vehicle. The steering column assembly also includes at least one of a turn direction control and a windshield wash/wiper and wiper delay control and a light control and a media control and a throttle control and an ignition control and a security control and a steering column adjustment control communicating with the electric power steering controller.
