    • A shoe for use by a person having paralysis or other restriction of mobility of one foot allows the foot to roll during physiotherapeutic training to gain walking ability. The upper body is used to at least partially support the person on an appropriate aid device during a step taken by the other foot having retained mobility. The shoe worn on the foot of restricted mobility has at least one omnidirectional roller member at the bottom thereof to allow the foot to roll forward to a position where a subsequent step can be taken. The relatively low level of friction involved in initializing the rolling motion of the foot reduces or eliminates reliance on another person to help move the foot forward during physical therapy.

    • An electric skateboard is capable of detecting a load applied from a rider accurately without influence from various positions of the rider on the board and without influence from various road conditions. The electric skateboard includes a board arranged to receive a load from the rider, a load detection sensor arranged to detect the load received by the board, a front wheel provided on a lower surface of the board, an arm which rotatably supports the front wheel, a first frame connected with the arm, a second frame fixed to the board, and a shaft connecting the first and second frames. The load detection sensor is sandwiched by the first and second frames. A rear wheel is provided on the lower surface of the board and has a construction that is similar to that of the front wheel.

    • The retractable foot gear 10 includes a sole 12 and a retractable wheel, ball, blade, or similar low friction element 16 which normally projects from a recess formed into the shoe's sole 12. The low friction element 16 retracts into a recess 14 when a predetermined amount of force is exerted on the low friction element 16. The low friction element 16 is additionally biased so as to automatically return to an extended position when the predetermined force is relieved. The retractable foot gear 10 assists persons with difficulty in walking, standing, or maneuvering. Moreover, the protruding low friction element enables one to slide one foot along a walking surface while minimizing the tendency of one to slip and fall.

    • A roller board including a board and two or more downwardly-disposed roller assemblies mounted on the board. Each roller assembly has an annular retaining collar with a spherical recess, a plurality of bearings seated within the recess, and a spherical roller ball rotatably seated in the recess in contact with the bearings. A stabilizer assembly is mounted between the roller assemblies to give lateral stability, and a false axle is provided in each of the roller assemblies for imparting increased friction upon contact with the roller ball. The false axle imparts a higher coefficient of friction on hard cornering, thereby simulating nullcarvingnull or digging in the edges of a snow board. The foregoing features combine to exactly simulate the sensation of using a snow board on snow.

    • A brake system slows and/or stops a downhill wheeled board for simulating snowboarding on a snowless terrain. The downhill wheeled board includes a platform having a top and a bottom; at least a first wheel, a second wheel and a third wheel, each wheel having an independent suspension and rotationally mounted to the bottom of the platform for rotation about an axis of rotation; and a brake system. The brake system for the downhill wheeled board includes a control mechanism such as a hand-held trigger, a force splitter such as a Y-plate, a first brake for braking the first wheel and a second brake for braking the second wheel. The force splitter is coupled to the control mechanism for movement by movement of the control mechanism. The first brake is coupled by a first flexible coupling to the force splitter and the second brake is independently coupled to the force splitter. By having a flexible coupling, the independent suspension of the wheels does not affect braking. Thus, movement of the force splitter activates both the first brake and the second brake.
