    • This invention discloses a topical cooling compressive hemostasis and wound healing device and methods thereof for affecting a percutaneous access wound or an acute surgical wound where the device is compatible with physiological, circulatory and cellular microenvironments of the injury and conforming to the injury site anatomy. The device promotes hemostasis, sustains hemostasis and improves wound healing quality by controlling and affecting vasculature motions of the injury site during various wound healing phases. The device incorporates an elastic material compatible with the elastic nature of the injured vessel to promote comfort and safety. The elastic material is further thermally conductive to deliver and transport cooling and a therapeutic agent to the wound site. The device further incorporates an anatomically conforming lateral stabilization component to stabilize the injury sits and its surroundings.

    • Disclosed is a method and apparatus for regulating tourniquet cuff pressure based on a personalized tourniquet pressure (PTP) to facilitate safe performance of a surgical procedure. The apparatus includes a dual-purpose tourniquet cuff adapted to encircle a region of a patient limb to provide both a sensor during a pre-surgical time period and an effector during a surgical time period. An effector module communicates pneumatically with an inflatable bladder of the cuff for maintaining pressure in the bladder near a PTP during the surgical time period to safely stop penetration of arterial blood past the cuff. A pulsation sensor that communicates pneumatically with the inflatable bladder during the pre-surgical time period senses and characterizes pressure pulsations that are indicative of penetration of arterial blood into the region of the limb encircled by the cuff. A PTP estimator is responsive to the pulsation sensor for producing an estimate of the PTP, such that the estimate of the PTP is a function of the sensed pulsations.

    • A gutclamper includes two hard rod-like bodies having flexible belts on one ends, a joint at which the rod-like bodies are joined, and at least one through hole made in one of the belts. The gut tract is clipped by using the two hard rod-like bodies and the joint as a pivot. By clipping the gut tract by side surfaces of the rod-like bodies, it can be clipped while the width of the gut is pressed and widened, so that the gut is prevented from being excessively clamped and torn. In addition, the two rod-like bodies are made different in length from each other, a through hole is made in the belt connected to the shorter rod-like body, and the tip end of the longer rod-like body is fit into the through hole and locked, so that reliable clipping is realized without an excessive burden being placed on an operator.

    • A radial artery compression device configured to be secured to a wrist or other portion of a patient to provide adjustable and consistent compression pressure in the area of a radial artery access site or other physiological portion of a patient to achieve hemostasis either during or after a medical procedure such as a percutaneous coronary procedure. The radial artery compression device includes a rotatable member and a compression pad adapted such that rotation of the rotatable member does not affect the rotational orientation of the compression pad. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a single rotation of the rotatable member results in complete extension or retraction of the radial artery compression device. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the rotation of the rotatable member results in a compounding of the extension or retraction of the compression pad relative to the body of the radial artery compression device.
